I am keeping an open mind on this until we hear a statement from Mr Cala or better still a fans forum where he can give his vision an airing and field some questions.

Something had to happen and the club was heading at breakneck speed towards administration and certain demotion to God knows which tier of football so maybe cut a bit of slack and see what transpires.

I do agree with Seasider , that gravy for the pies was definitely needed !

Looks like The Bay pulled that story because the sale hasn't officially been done yet.

Another update here

Some of the statements coming out sound very similar to when he bought Calcio Lecco in 2012:

Cala Corp trading under the stock symbol CCAA announced today that the company has purchased 79% of the outstanding shares of Calcio Lecco 1912 (http://www.aclecco.it). Calcio Lecco has been a major Italian soccer club since 1912. However, over the past two decades the club has been owned and managed by amateur operators. Therefore, it is the company's plan to bring back Calcio Lecco to its glory days by playing in the Italian Premier League known as Serie A. Currently the club plays in the Italian Soccer League fourth division. However, the company strongly believes that with the right management, it will win its division year after year until reaching the ultimate goal of the Italian Premier League. It is imperative to note that only the winning club is promoted to the upper division. The total television royalty income for the Italian Premier League is around $1 billion shared among 20 soccer clubs.

The company's long-term plan is to build a world-class stadium adjacent to shopping centers, hotels, a convention center, unlimited parking, a class A office building, hospitals, a college and a soccer beach. Currently, three additional clubs are trading in the Italian stock exchange and those clubs are Juventus (MIB:JUVE), Roma (MIB:ASR) and Lazio (MIB:SSL).

Mr. Cala left the Club half an hour ago and was stopped in his tracks by the Bay. The interview should be on line sometime soon

Just listened to his interview, he wants to sack all the board if he gets to own the club and will find out by Monday if he's going to be the new owner. Also wants the club to focus on the footballing sides rather than the hospitality side of things !

I'm going to watch a film tonight. It's called Whisky Tango Foxtrot. Apparently it's the story of a league two football club in northwest England.

He also said he wanted to take the club public so does that mean he's going to float us on the stock exchange?

   If I had been it wouldn't have been binoculars trained at the door ; more like something a wee bit more painful.... :o

As for KS's above post, no club can focus on the footballing side without a thriving and dynamic commercial operation so that's a load of bollocks from Cala for a start off...and if he puts thousands into the club he'll want a return someday which given our record of loosing money year on year even during our first FL season is not possible as he will find out sooner than later.

Sad day or our club.

There'll be no script to it. You just couldn't write it.

Left it all a bit late to get some much needed new players in before the window shuts...Surely thats what we need to keep us away from the trapdoor which will surely distroy his 'investment'

LOL!!!

It is actually an excellent film, highly recommend it. The book it is based upon is excellent too if interested in that part of the world. 'The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan'.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Why would he comment about Jim? He doesn't even own the club yet and wasn't even asked a question about the playing side.

I read this as;

Not a single question (from the journalist)

Or mention (from Cala)

Hope this helps

How can he spend 90% of the takings on things on the pitch?
In the meantime who is going to book hospitality or a function/wedding knowing that the potential new owner is going to do away with it
