Some sort of banner of support for the Doncaster game?
I think something positive is a better idea, we can't really have a go at the guy for what he might or might not do.

Yep, we haven't seen what he's capable of yet, and hopefully it won't be as bad as feared. Despite reports from what's happened in the past, we need to remain positive and show him what a top bunch of fans we are!

Yep, what we need is an eccentric foreign chairman sacking the manager every five minutes because he's been frustrated watching a match. Works so well at other clubs.

Whatever failings the club has had, the continuity and stability in the team management has, in my view, been one of it's better decisions. A manager doesn't suddenly become a bad manager over night and thankfully for the last 20 years or so our club has seen this.

Exactly, competency over sentiment any day.

Exactly, hence the title of the thread. Glad you agree.

I agree. We have to give him a chance because we can't choose the owner. As Rod says in the Radio Lancashire interview, it was out of the hands of the board, so it's totally out of our hands. We all know we couldn't go on as we were, so some change is inevitable. Again, as Rod said, we need EVERYONE to get behind Jim & the players against Doncaster. Provide a positive, united front. If our new owner then reciprocates positively, great. If he starts off on a negative footing, well...

We need it to be NOISY on the terraces v Doncaster, in a positive manner. How long can we do "JIM BENTLEY'S BARMY ARMY" without stopping? It would be the best display of unity that we can make.

Although I don't rate Jim as a manager and believe as do many others that he should have been sacked a long time ago, he deserves a chance to prove himself to the new owner.

Whoever comes in to a new club normally stamps their authority, but it is the way they go about it. I don't want to be owned the way Leeds was. I also agree that Jim deserves a chance, but carry on playing negative football at home, then a change will be necessary. My other concern is hospitality that staff will lose jobs, but mainly our chef who has made us a name with the best pies. We don't want some horrible pukka pie, we like the pies we have. Same as Jim if the chef goes I go.

Just wanted to know off Paul & Richard is it possible to set up a fundraising page now or has all the relevant documentation got to be finalised first. Just an idea if it still goes pear shape to help pay staff in financial difficulty.

I noticed Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool fans are protesting tomorrow over their current owners.

This stuff about negative football is garbage. Sounds like West Ham fans saying they should play the West Ham way. He's kept a totally skint club with rubbish attendances in the football league for the last few years. Might be a case of don't know what you've got til its gone.

Cutting cloth accordingly?
Can't make a silk purse out of a sows' ear?

Regardless of what people thought six months ago, I think almost everyone now realises what an amazing job Jim's been doing under the circumstances, so we need 100% positive support right now.

Shrimpeteer is of course correct, I think the majority of regular watchers would agree, given everything Jim has to contend with,on and off the pitch, he's a remarkable manager.

I agree with all posts here and our club would be completely different if jim were to leave anytime soon and I hope he doesn't.

But what if things do work out under the new owner and he invests money with a new manager what gives us the platform to challenge at the top end of the division ? Would everyone still boycott then ? Everything's up in the air at the minute but let's see what the next few months bring before slating Joseph Cala and hope we can be successful with him as an owner and jim as a manager !

but they can afford to sack and pay compensation to the said Manager for the remainder of contract. we can't.

so we won't be like them.

I'll go out on a limb and say that the likelihood of Joseph Cala who owned Salernitana for 11 days, caused havoc at Portsmouth, got caught with 6,000 in forged Euros, confused his academic record with the LinkedIn profile of an MBA student of the same name, who thinks a club losing £600k a year is a contender to float on the Stock Exchange and tried to raise hundreds of millions to put casinos in glass-bottomed boats, will not lead us to the promised land or "things working out". Radical perspective and a bit pessimistic but hey!

Why is it garbage when die hard fans have lost interest in coming to the Globe over several months ? Some of the results have been rubbish & for whatever reason have not been good enough. However this is not the time to point fingers when we have other issues to worry about which include still having a club. I stick by Jim until the new owners give him enough time to prove otherwise. As I said Graham deserves to stay on for the superb pies he does. Hopefully all these questions will be answered to the new owners soon.

Spot on Posh. 1+. I am worried about the hospitality and how he expects to run a bunch of players without the hospitality income. I don't trust him one bit from his past. Can see this ending up like Chester City.

I think people are thinking, if he sacks him on a whim, like next week, or even before the end of the season, given that Jim won't be bringing in new players before the transfer window closes.

If he gives Jim a fair crack of the whip and it doesn't work out, that's different.

The problem is that the Cala deal is the only option on the table.... and even that is at the 11th hour. What choice do the board have? PMG and bubbles have stitched them all up something rotten. If the Cala deal is rejected, Who else will settle the creditors... which now includes our own staff?!? :( :( :(

So the man who has repeatedly attracted decent player's to a club paying some of the lowest wages in professional football and kept us safely in the league should of been sacked years ago by the person who was standing in the way of genuinely interested local people taking over the club, instead handing it over to really, really obviously shaky outsiders?

The blame for all this...and for any decline in performances team strength etc does not lie with Jim Bentley.

He goes, I go too.

It's quite easy to go off and do something else, we had one home game in December and won't have had a home game for virtually a month if we get to the next one...
I will categorically say that any of these potential new owners won't give a sh!t whether or not 1000 fans turn up or not.
If they can get us floated on the US stock exchange then fair play to them tbh..

Season ticket holders maybe have doubts about renewing, but Lifetime ticket holders must be twitching a bit
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think
