In The Bay reported that last week, then pulled the story.

His interview is as ''colourful'' as any you are likely to read, and stinks of bullshit, it'll fool the majority of fans and whatever his motives are , might possibly mean we have a team to support for a while.

Correct. He is facing the acid test immediately. He made a promise to deposit funds to pay the wages. I assume that will be as soon as the i's are dotted and the t's crossed with the EFL and Companies House and he is the 'owner'. If he doesn't then any credibility he has (all from his own mouth as far as we can see) is shot to pieces. No excuses, he has allegedly stated in interviews with the media that he has the funds ready and waiting.I for one am not holding my breath on this one.

I'm not sure any fans are "fooled" - our eyes are wide open. But, like the board, we're just bystanders in all this. Cala is the only glimmer of hope there is at the moment.

Indeed. I've never done a parachute jump but at the moment it feels like I'm about to jump out of the plane and Mr Cala is the rucksack on my back that I'm just hoping will turn into something that will allow me to float calmly to the ground ... and hopefully not into the path of an oncoming bus !

Indeed. Although the plane you're about to jump out of is about to run out of fuel and drop out of the sky so there is no choice!

He is demanding that the current Shrimps directors resign en bloc before he puts any money into the club. However, he said he would be prepared to offer directorships to two or three of the present board members because, he said, they were totally committed to football.

Interesting comment... Something positive perhaps?

By what authority is he issuing notices of redundancies if he isn't the legal owner yet?

Some of his pronouncements are bizarre ie underground heating for the pitch. The number of games we get called off in a season due to a frozen pitch you can count on one hand.

I'm not holding my breath to see if any money actually turns up but on the evidence of his aborted attempt to take over at Portsmouth thanks in part to the Administrator who was able to find a better purchaser, the outlook for me looks bleak.

Perhaps he got one of the other Board members to sign the letters? Perhaps he is already a director, i.e. has the signed appointment paperwork in his hand, but not yet sent it to Companies House? But such a letter doesn't even need to be signed by a director/owner - still perfectly legal and binding if signed by anyone with the due power/authority, such as a departmental manager etc. The Board or other directors may have delegated such powers to him.

You don't need to be legal owner, i.e. majority shareholder to do anything, in fact, just owning shares gives no rights to run a company. A company is run by it's directors not it's shareholders.

Just wondering where Mr. Cala is going to get the money from to pay February's wages? There is nothing in his background that suggests he has any money. Yes, he talks himself up but the chips are now down, where is the money?

Do we have any details of the redundancies , not names but what positions have been made redundant.

Well considering he's said that he's outsourcing the whole catering / corporate wing of the company you would imagine anyone currently employed by the football club in those departments will be out of work fairly soon.

Well if he able to make such an executive decision as that then he should do the right thing and pay the wages.

I'd imagine redundancy notices will be a protective measure. In reality, any new management firm would probably either take over the staff under TUPE or the staff would be able to re-apply for their jobs. Or if no new management firm comes on board that quickly, the staff may be kept on anyway on a rolling contract. Whatever happens, staff will be needed for the function rooms.

Sounds oh so familiar to the rhetoric we've being reading and hearing from Cala to date:

There's no TUPE or need to re - apply for jobs. MFC Ltd isn't being taken over, it's "just" a share transfer. No change to contracts.
