Sounds as if PMG should have appointed someone like that a few years ago to evaluate the position, come up with some options, and to oversee the sale if that was the best outcome - i.e. someone with experience, and who knows all the options available re financing etc.

Apart from actually being in L2, involving kicking a ball about on grass I can't see any similarities to the 2 clubs.
They get as many fans through the door in 1 game as we do in 12..

yes, I seem to remember Kanu ex Arsenal and Ajax, was owed over a million pound for the remainder if his contract, and was going to take them to court, but had second thoughts and said you need it more than I do. pretty decent of him.

That's the daft thing about all this. The club shouldn't be heading into oblivion - things shouldn't be that bad. Yes, the losses are huge, but lots of clubs are far worse. There is no need for the losses to have been so bad and, properly managed, the shortfalls could be massively reduced with some structural changes. Anyone got Trevor Birch's phone number?

I'm a Pompey supporter watching the goings on at The Globe with interest; I've always had a soft spot for the club (last minute equalisers by goalkeepers excepted...) since spending time at Warton with the RAF in the 80s. I also had involvement with the setup of the Pompey Trust and worked on their 'Plan B' during both recent administrations.

I'd urge you to contact Trevor Birch and see if he can offer any advice given your current situation, plus also get in contact with Iain McInnes (the chairman) and Ashley Brown, a Trust member who sits on the board at Fratton Park and the current CEO at Supporters Direct. They were the leaders of the successful supporter ownership bid and would have a massive amount of advice to give you.

I saw earlier someone mention that we had a larger fanbase at Pompey, but it really doesn't matter. It was actually around a couple of hundred people who got involved either via the ownership bid or the protest marches we held prior to then. The 2,000+ £1,000 shares obviously helped later on, but it was the 'Fit & Proper?' march and all the other protests that brought media focus onto our club and created the momentum needed to ultimately gain control.

Don't think you're alone in this, you'll gather support from the football world, but it just needs to be coordinated properly.

Call up Sky TV, the local BBC, radio stations and journalists. David Conn, the Guardian football writer, was a great asset to us and would no doubt be the same for you given the ownership issues you have. He wrote some fantastic articles for us. If some of you are pretty good with words write up your own articles and send them out to the media - we had 4-4-2, When Saturday Comes, the Daily Telegraph, The Times and others run supporter-written features. Just make sure you get a libel lawyer to vet them first!

We thankfully survived Ali Al Faraj (the Saudi 'businessman' who didn't actually exist), Chainrai, Sulaiman al-Fahim, Cala and a whole host of others during the saga at Pompey. What we've got now isn't perfect, but we exist and the future looks good. Fingers crossed the same applies to you.

This is what we need to do try and raise awareness (I bet sky sports news haven't even mentioned us yet, still prob going on about transfer deadline day). Something along the lines of trying to raise awareness of the fit and proper test and how we want to help support the staff. We need something to grab the attention like paying Jimbo's fine did.

I think once national press start getting involved and start digging people involved will start talking more and details will come out as they get a bit more nervous about what the national press might dig up if they go looking themselves.

Write the email, leave it for a few hours and go back and sanitise it before sending it. And don't worry too much about how emotional it gets - you should have seen some of ours!
