The League and the PFA are already involved, heavily. The PFA has had ongoing and very recent representations from Morecambe’s player spokesman and the League are sitting in judgement on the most crucial immediate decision of all – whether Mr Cala should be deemed fit and proper.
As I see it (and I’m no expert on the technicalities… if they say he is, it would effectively give him a green light to use his shares in whatever way he saw fit, claiming ownership and touting the club as ‘his asset’, officially sanctioned by the League.
If the PFA have a view on that, given the representations they’ve received from Morecambe players, their members, about what’s happening and what they think about the possible introduction of Mr Cala, they can express that to the League and it may, along with other information they receive, have an influence on their decision.
It ‘may’ not be specifically relevant to that process – but at least they need to be made aware. I understand people are making contact. The PFA have constant contact with the League on lots of matters.
