Season ticket holders donations

Season ticket holders donations

Postby Christies Child » Sat Feb 04, 2017 11:57 am

There is little that the fans can do at the moment other than to express opinions (and there's nobody worse at it than me) about the behind the scenes ranglings about the sale of our club.

However as a season ticket holder I'm prepared to donate the cost of entry to all home games as a way of finacially helping on match days towards paying our club staff through this uncertain period.

It would be excellent if other season ticket holders are prepared to do the same.

Maybe some kind of collection point at main reception would be the ideal donation point?

I'm not sure how many season ticket hoders there are these days but let's say that it's 500. If those 500 gave even £10 that's an extra £5000 in the kitty; obviously its unlikely that all 500 will donate but some may be prepated to donate £20 possibly even more.

As season ticket holders we've already benefited in some small finacial way by being season ticket holders. Maybe by giving something extra on match days it will help our club through this present crisis.

Yes , agreed and also speaking as a season ticket holder.

I don't think we would get all ST holders paying to enter but maybe some buckets for season ticket holders to put something in would boost the takings.

one thing what might be worth doing is having a bucket collection like we did for Jim, and pay the match day staff, like stewards , turnstile operators , program sellers, etc, I'm sure a similar amount of £1000 would cover the match day wages.

I heard Rod Taylor is covering this, we can't expect expect Rod to do this indefinitely , ideally I'd like Rod to saves his money and buy us one day,.

but anyway, just an idea?

How about putting buckets out for everyone to donate if they wish to, look what was achieved for Jims fine, even those who just bout afford to go to games could put a couple of £ in, another great way of showing support for the team.

Good Idea. I also think, that with the club & trusts permission, maybe buckets in Sainsburys, Asda, Aldi with the permission of the stores to collect and fundraise. Also a raffle with donations from retailers to help out keep the football club in the community. So many ideas. Even if we paid double for a pie at the home game against Cambridge, it goes along way to support all the staff that we are thinking of them. I bought my shirt from the club last week & would recommend people just to buy something online or in shop when passing. Now Diego see what mess you have caused.

The only thing I would suggest differently is to make the donation to the Shrimps Trust. As it stands, if (for example) the law decided Diego/Cala/bloke from the North East is the lawful owner, you'd effectively be giving that money to one of them to spend as they see fit. At least if it goes to the trust, they can pass it on to Rod for wages payments (or whatever) so we have some control over it.

So how did that work out then?

Agreed. I think a lot of us have agreed to contribute to the trust asap when accounts etc' are set up. I also don't mind contributing into buckets but I'd hate to think that one penny of it was going into the pocket of a crook. Also what will happen to gate money? I'm not currently a season ticket holder but wouldn't like any of the gate money to be available to 'our new found friends', at least until they prove they are putting money of their own in and I don't think any of us are holding our breath on that one.

Yes it seems the sensible approach. Lemos we want what is owed along with your friend Mr Burnard.

Maybe Sky & all journalist's could interview the pair Lemos & Burnard on their plans to pay the players. Lemos did a runner & now Mr Burnard has to pick up the pieces. However still no excuse that all the players & staff with families have not been paid yet. Surely you can find methods even without EFL approval. However I agree Phoenix, we won't hold our breath on Lemos facing the music at the Globe next Sat.

I heard at the last home game that the Directors aren't banking any money, so the cash could be used to pay essentials such as staff etc. I think this money was used recently to pay some of the staff's wages.

If this is the case I think the best thing to do is to simply turn up a bit earlier Saturday and spend more. Thought it might be good to all raid the Club Shop and buy something. I think I will also get a tenner's worth of half time draw tickets, buy a programme etc.

Rather than season ticket holders donating, how about all those in the posh seats paying to go in the home end and fill it?

They aren't really posh seats are they, and most people sit on the halfway line for a better view, or because standing is difficult for them, I don't see that sitting down makes anyone less of a fan, and familys prefer sitting so the kids can see better.

Mis-interpreted yet again.

1) Fill the home end, make some noise
2) All stand together, important at the moment don't you think?
3) Easy way to donate

Maybe those who are invited to use the private boxes should consider a donation as well.....

I don't want to play devils advocate but there are a few things to consider here so we don't end in alienating some fans.

Firstly not all season tickets will want to put money in. They have already paid remember. Buckets are a better idea as people can pick and choose what they do.

Normal fans might not want to pay more to sit in the seats. Firstly just because and secondly they have no idea where that extra money is going.

Which brings me on to point 3. Anything that is done donation wise must be made clear to the fans where it is going, not on here but on the day...which is also related to point 4

Finally we have on average 1400 people there on Saturdays. Let's not assume they read shrimpsvoice or know what's going on. The message to all fans needs to be made clear, who is asking for donations and where the money is going.

I'm my opinion, and this is just mine. But I think buying stuff in the club shop or paying more money to sit in the seats is not the right thing to do, we have no idea where that money will go. If however the trust (going to make a separate point about that below) were to organise buckets I would rather put my money in there but any money that goes back into the club could just be a black hole right now. If the club said it's going to wages then that's a different matter.

So about the trust...whatever route they decide to go down that's the route we have to support. Hence why they are called a trust. I see many topics talking about what the trust should do or maybe the trust can help...I would imagine everyone is busy there so coming on here and having to defend decision or say it's not that simple. I think we need to leave them to it right now and let them provide updates on there own.

It's up to each and every fan to donate either via the main reception on match days or via the Trust, assuming that they have a Trust Bank Account.

Some are worried that money donated directly to the club may end up in the wrong hands. As I see it all money via main reception will go into the clubs coffers NOT into the sticky hands of a preditor because until any takeover the current Board of Directors will be responsible for handling the cash. To suggest that they should not be trusted is completely wrong.

However as the Trust to date doesn't have a facility to handle cash (please correct me if I'm wrong and if so I apologise) I still feel that any donation directly to the club is the better option.

Personally I will be donating my seat price directly to the club.

But as I said it's up to the individual but whichever way you do it.....JUST DO IT PLEASE

So 2 things. is this a fact that under the current circumstance the current board have full control of money in and out? Because if it's not you clearly haven't understood my post

If this is the case then by definition the current board are fully responsible for the wages not being paid.

Why is it that my well intentioned request has opened up a can of worms....or so it would appear :?:

If concerns about where the donated cash would go to then the same could be asked of next weekends gate money... :!:

And until any takeover is fully completed and legally binding then the current Board are responsible for wages BUT in their defence like us all were under the impression that G50 owned the club but that now is in dispute....I think.... :!: :!: :!:

As the trust is being formed from FCoM I'm sure they will be taking over their bank accounts. Surely people could put money in there.
