What good news? I had heard a rumour that staff would be paid today!

Unless I've missed something in the noise of the last couple of weeks, I haven't seen anything that would suggest that Mr Burnard has even applied to the EFL for fit and proper status.

My understanding is that he's found himself involved in the process, as an agent, to an extent that was never the intention.

All I can recall is that Cala is the only person for whom the F&P process is underway, per the interview with Rod last week and that process was ongoing with the EFL.

I think waiting for Burnard to be granted F&P status to get the wages sorted is a dead end.

Sorry to have to admit but it looks as though my and others prefered option of a local consortium buy out is unlikely to happen which means that any buy out will be with a person or consortium who have absolutely no affinity with our club...

So the only one saying they can't pay the wages is the one expected to pay them?

Hmm, an ex-director who hasn't been through the fit & proper test has paid the wages. Amazing.

What a relief. Let's hope the battle to establish an owner is settled before the next payday.

Perhaps this good news is a sign that things are going to stabilise

Just be thankful that he's put the money in.

Not sure if you are right about the fit and proper bit...I thought that he had gone through the process but could be wrong...again :!: :!: :!:

Pretty sure he did go through it when Diego and Abdul first took over the club.

So he has http://www.morecambefc.com/news/article ... 52926.aspx

Which means that seeing as no one has yet succeeded him to be the fit & proper owner of the club, it's his in the eyes of the EFL.

In which case surely all we are waiting for is for the court case between Diego and Abdul? If it comes out in Abdul's favour he can then sell to who he likes (Cala?) providing that new purchaser has the money to buy and gets through the EFL fit & proper check........is that right :?: :?: :?:

Great news that the staff/players have been finally been paid, but surely this is just a case of Abdul keeping MFC 'a going concern' before a sale to Cala or some other questionable character? Love to be proven otherwise, but we are not out of the shit storm yet.

Why does everyone assume that he has paid the wages. The PFA have paid the wages again but won't pay again next month so at least we have some breathing space short term

I assume it because staff say he has and it's been reported by local media and by the club!

Rod Taylor says that Abdul paid the wages.

The PFA wouldn't have paid the Globe staff's wages , they only pay players.

Like all of us I've no idea what's really going on, and so I'm reading between the lines here and I may well be reading that completely wrongly, but.......

Is this now the second time Abdul has dipped into his pocket to help us out? and both times I don't really think he had a legal obligation to do so?

Unlike Lemos/Cala/Burnard he seems to have some actual money to his name and not just a load of hot air. And.. equally if not more importantly, it looks like he cares about the Club and the people in it?

Is Abdul the one good guy in all this amongst a sea of shysters?

From what I understand Burnard is the trustee of Abdul.

The wikipedia definition of a Trustee is: "Trustee (or the holding of a trusteeship) is a legal term which, in its broadest sense, can refer to any person who holds property, authority, or a position of trust or responsibility for the benefit of another."

If that's the case then I guess Abdul and Burnard are the same entity? Burnard just acts on Abduls behalf?
