Wages

Postby shrimper » Wed Feb 01, 2017 9:22 am

Anyone know if they were all paid? And, if so, who paid them? Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I know Mr Cala may be waiting for EFL clearance but he did, evidently, mention 'interim investment'.

Or, if wages have been paid, is it down to the existing board keeping things running?
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Just spoke to a friend who's son works at the Globe, he hasn't been paid, and he doesn't know anyone who has been paid, so its a very probable no.

Should FCOM or anyone else be able to agree with the club directors, a channel for donations to be 100% channeled to employees who have not received salary , I would be more than happy to put in a donation (none refundable)

Something needs to be organised. Don't know if Paul can put on a fundraising website without the clubs consent or the relevant paperwork. However it may be bucket rattling or donations at the next home game.

C'mon give the guy a chance, he's not even the owner yet. However if he achieves that distinction and then messes folk around, who knows? I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of KE, JB, KM and many others I could think of. I've got these visions of an old fat guy dressed in his finest FILA gear running for his life down Christie Way.

The next home game isn't until the 11th. If the staff still haven't been paid by then we'll be lucky to have a team to go and watch as they will probably be entitled to rip up their contracts at that point!

I think we have to prepare ourselves for Mr. Cala not paying February's wages. He clearly is relying on investors giving him the money for this but why should they. As other posts have indicated he doesn't seem to have any money of his own. I fear he is Diego Mark Two but desperately hope I'm wrong.

He claims he's paid a six figure sum for the club from G50.....where's the momey come from?

I simply don't trust the guy one bit and his past history doesn't suggest otherwsie.

Portsmouth's administrator soon sussed him out and quickly showed him the door.

Anybody who starts issuing redundancy notices to loyal staff before they have control is NOT a fit and proper person to have control of our club.

What's your source for this? I'm doing my best to keep up to date with things but not seen anything to suggest this has happened.

That depends on the individual's contract. IF it states they are to be paid by the end of the month then MFC Ltd are already in breach of contract and, after confirming with a lawyer, they are free to leave with no notice. I expect that to be applicable to staff but players may have something else entirely.

(I'm not lawyer and don't take my advice as certain but I've dealt with a lot of employment contracts in latter years)

I could be wrong but I'm sure I've read / heard something that states if their wages go unpaid for 14 days then they are able to rip up their contracts and sign with another club.

I think it was a football agent on Radio Lancashire sport last night who was asked questions regarding our players and the no payment issue.

In defence of Cala, can you really blame him for not wanting to put cash in until he has passed the EFL checks and is officially allowed to take over the club? If he doen't get the nod he will have chucked his money down the proverbial black hole.

Unfortunately we are in total limbo until the checks are done as the current board are also not going to put in any more money as they have already bailed out last week to the tune of £40K and are also most likely to be resigning and stepping away as soon as Cala takes official control.

Lets hope its resolved either way before the weekend.

Chucked 'his money'? What money?

Has he handed over any money, or is it another 'agreement to purchase shares'?

I've been a bit outspoken about Cala before giving him a chance, calling him a ''chancer'' etc..... I have to revise my opinion now and say that on the face of it he seems to be a barmpot, a tramp, and a complete and utter ballbag.

That is the frustrating thing about Companies House. They have an annual return , now called the Confirmation Statement in June every year but it is just a snapshot of the shareholdings on the date of the return. We have 4 months to wait for the statement and it may be just water under the bridge by then and we could be setting our sat navs for Nelson and Padiham if we are lucky !

I just wonder if there is any mileage in the Fans Club/Trust convening a meeting soon to discuss how we can help our club in this hour of need. I would hope this meeting could involve local business people including Nigel Adams, Graham Hodgson and Rod Taylor. It is beginning to be clear that we don't have long to try and save our club. A meeting could determine what money we can put into the pot as a short term measure for our club. It is inexcusable that staff remain unpaid. We must do what we can to help.
