Guess the gate

However many come, I'm hoping for fair weather, efficient distribution of the freebies, an attacking display and a good result so that they are compelled to return.

Anything over 2000 would be great, but I suspect that the gate will be circa 1750 which will be disappointing after all the appeals of this week by JImbo and Rod plus not forgetting the media.

Whatever the gate I hope the team play to their potential and provide a spectacle that we can be proud of.

I went online this afternoon and booked two seats in C Prem for me and the Mrs. I just hope I don't end up sitting next to a big fat noisy bastard who keeps shouting at Jim and Ken!

We seem to be down to the hard core support at the moment, its over a month since the last home game and there has been plenty of media coverage so hopefully we will see a good turnout but I'm that confident that we will tempt too many back, 1,789.

Flipping heck George, thought I was being pessimistic/realistic but if you are right then all this has been for nothing.
We've got to get somewhere closer to 2000 at least, surely

just being honest , going by people I've been speaking to, I always try and put people on guilt trips and say things to people like (I don't know, we have our own football club, FL on our doorstep, and you don't support your home towns team) ..

don't think there's a quick fix in boosting attendances I'm afraid :(

Could vouchers like this be the way to increase gates in the future :?:

Vouchers for a pie or hot-dog for all paying home spectators and season ticket holders.

Would the revenue from the extra number of spectators that may attend exceed any loss of income from pie sales ? Probably not but tomorrow will be interesting and is a win win in that Skybet pick up the tab.

no, not in my opinion.

your not going to get people who don't normally watch Morecambe thinking and saying (oh look at that offer A FREE Pie n Pint) after splashing out £15 at least

people like that will go for your buy one get one free offers for Burger King, Dominos Pizza.

I expect a few hundred stay away fans returning forgetting their differences and back supporting the club in the desperate state it's in, inspired with the players and staff showing the right attitude.

I was wondering if the scoreboard would be working tomorrow, Brian, because of where it is.
Pleased it will be on

Not 100% certain the scoreboard will be working yet. The computer located in the block is definitely still on as I can reach it remotely, it just depends if there is still power going to the external screen, which I will find out tomorrow.

Ah right. So if it's on tomorrow I will take it that PMG leisure were using MFC electric?

No scoreboard then

2,142 although I would be thrilled if it's 2,500 - 3,000

I know that the Club Shop has been much busier with more people buying tickets than usual over the last couple of days.

If you are on social media, whether it be Twitter, Facebook or any other platform. Keep posting and publicising the game right up till the kick off.

Come on you Shrimps.

Sadly don't think a free pie and us being up sh*t creek is going to unpick years of depleting crowds. 1650 tomorrow at a push.

HOWEVER I really hope I'm wrong, and live in hope tomorrow can be the start of change...
