To be fair to you, CC - and I'll happily hold my hand up on this one as well - there have been times over the past couple of seasons that I've thought (and said) that Kev was being picked on his reputation.

He wasn't contributing enough for me to be the automatic choice he appeared to be.

Recent weeks, though, he's really put in some great shifts and Saturday was a continuation of that form which has been great to see. I'm sure that goes for all of us because, even given the above comments, we all love him!

It just looks to me that as the club is involved in an on-going saga that Kevin as the experienced pro in the current squad has been a leader both on and off the field and is a credit to both himself and his profession.

He will I'm sure ultimately become a manager which will be a great loss to ourselves but a great leader to whoever the club is that he takes control of.

For me if and when Jimbo moves on to a bigger but not necessarily better club, Kevin would be the ideal person to take over and learn the managerial trade....just a Jimbo has done.

I think the big difference has been his positioning. Now he's playing a more central attacking role, he's back at doing what he does best these days. We saw exactly the same 3 years ago when Jim changed to a 5-3-2 formation with Kevin up front with Redshaw after a run of bad form. He doesn't seem to do as well on the wing in a 4-3-3.

The problem with Kev is we flog him to death, he plays 90 minutes week in week out until Xmas and then has a dip, it's the same every year and we also used to do the same to Drummy. The problem is because there is no one as good to replace them but if we could put him on the bench every now and then and bring him on for 30 mins I think he would maintain a more consistent level of form throughout the season.

His legs have gone and he's nowhere near the force he was when he was signed, but an excellent performer still at this level.

Brilliant story that's what football should be about. Top professional who has ben a fantastic servant to the club, you cant buy his passion. Love to see him in a management role some day.

Kev has got to be Jim's best ever signing. Thought he was a bit past it back in 2011, but here he is still proving the doubters wrong! With the way he looks after himself, he's got to be worth another year's extension in the summer. Such a character, leader and a true pro. Potentially a future Morecambe manager?
