The future - out with a bang.

The future - out with a bang.

Postby shrimper » Wed Feb 22, 2017 6:46 pm

All this ownership farce is really getting me down as I suspect it is all of us.

So I'm envisaging a 'last blast' conclusion to it all.

We get to the play-offs. We beat Luton in a pulsating two-leg semi with 1,000 "Erics" making national TV news. We then beat Pompey with a last minute Barry Roche winner after coming from 3-0 down thanks to a hat-trick from Kev.

We come back to the Globe and party on free booze and pies until 4am when there's none of either left.

The morning after, we file a winding-up order, accepting that's as good as it's ever going to get. Burnard, Cala, Diego etc scuttle away.

The Fans' Trust, backed by some current and former directors, gets permission from the Christie Trust to use the Globe land for a new club that starts all over again from the West Lancs League.

Or something like that.... :o
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Nice one Glen, I could live with that.

West Lancs League, we will smash that Tin Pot League! For once it could actually happen.

Looking at the points gap between us and Colchester, I reckon we'll secure the play off spot a bit sooner than that!

How strange a 23 point gap no chance of anything like that happening

That isn't the table at the end of the season but on April 8th.

If you press the "To end of season" button it shows you the table on the final day and how that even if we were to lose every game from the 8th onwards we couldn't be overhauled.
Essentially if the stars aligned and we managed to build a 23 point gap by April 8th we would be guaranteed a playoff place.

In a similar vain the earliest we can guarantee survival is March 18th (ignoring of course a points deduction).

So what you are saying is we only need to win 10 games from 15 to guarantee a play-off place? Simples!

Yeah, because he'd never go up for a last minute corner if we were level......against Portsmouth...and looking for a winner..would he?!!
This is fantasy...and it's my fantasy. But, apart from the Baz thing, you're okay with everything else? :D

So what job will Jimbo be getting? Leicester?

I'm assuming we will storm up the West Lancs league under charismatic young player-manager Ellison 8-)

I'm banking on the TV exposure and our run to the play-offs putting players and management team in the spotlight and them all getting great offers at good clubs, yes.
