Garath Hughes from Brooklyn has flown in from the USA to Morecambe, with his son, specifically to try the Morecambe FC pies! Interviewed on Radio Lancashire, he's had three of them before the game!

In the spirit of the American pie man's visit, it sounds as if Grimsby are resorting to pumpkin the ball in the box.

Someone now needs to work the words 'pecan' and 'key lime' into a football related sentence.

We had some precipitation yesterday. At one point it was raining so hard that I ALMOST had to take shelter inside the pub. Only 24 degrees which is nearly coat weather

Well done lads! We couldn't, could we? That four team tournament at the end of the season. Kiss of death to mention its' name and very tough game Tuesday. Weird game footy, one minute we look to face a hell of a battle to stay up and then next minute we're looking upwards. Bring it on!

A great game to watch and a great training ground goal to win it. Whitmore and Edwards are a real force at the back now and Mullin is starting to fulfil his potential at last. Moly was my MOTM but Whitmore wasn't far away.

An excellent battling win in windy conditions.

We should have scored more with the chances and the two occasions where we hit the woodwork but Molys sweet strike was just enough to secure the points.

It was a good team performance and difficult to choose a man of the match but Whitmore probably deserved it. Him and Edwards are looking very dependable at the back. Mullin my other honourable mention who put a shift in, always looking to take his man on with the ball and chasing it down when not in possession. Keep it up Mullers.

Well done Jim and the lads!

A great team performance with everyone playing their part.

The defence is looking much better and more organised than earlier in the season.

Big Baz is back to his best. Whitmore and Edwards are superb in front of him. Mullers had yet another storming game and everyone else was up there with 8 out of 10.

Referee had a good game too

Great team effort. You can see what it means to these players and they're all battling for the cause. Roll on Pompey.

Missed the goal being late in, but at least I saw the two disallowed ;) Another spirited performance on and off the pitch. We've now won more games than we did all last season and only a point off our total tally too. At this rate I don't think a push for the play-offs is totally out of the question if the off the field issues don't take a turn for the worst.

Cracking win today and well deserved. The highlights show we could have won that by 3-4 on another day and I can't see how Kev's goal was offside. I was really impressed by the front 3 - Kev, Mullin and Evans ran them ragged and Grimsby's defence couldn't handle their combination play and pace.

As for the rest, we were brilliant at winning the second ball and clearing our lines when required. The Globe was rocking at the end and throughout with Jim punching the air in delight. As someone who's spent a long time away it's brilliant to see the younger fellas make lots of noise.

Well done boys cracking result. When we scored early i thought, o sh!t we will now get battered... but no this is the new version, 6 months ago we would have sat back and invited pressure then lost 3.1..
Something has changed, confidence is there, its great to watch..
Grimsby had some chances but were nullified, we on the other hand kept wi ning the ball and going the other way. Could have had shedloads....

Not sure about the offside
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Great result and I suppose that conditions dictated our style of play which I would hope isn't replicated when conditions are far better.

I still feel that we should play it ;) more on the deck but, yes, conditions dictated that we couldn't play it on the deck but not pretty to watch for me.......others will disagree... :!: :!: :!:

It was and is all about the 3 points which practically ensures another football league season, but which league.... :?: :!: ;)
