Can't understand why so many Police outside the ground post match. The Grimsby fans did themselves proud

Hopefully we didn't have to pay for the police horses, seeing as they left their dollops for Chesh to collect and scatter on the pitch to help the grass grow!

Provided they are outside the stadium then it doesn't cost Morecambe FC anything and it makes people feel safe.

Have to say I was pretty surprised by the police turn out. Even a pair of horses down on the other side of the railway bridge.
The shrimps police liaison account on Twitter praised their behaviour.

.

There were 2 pairs on the car park before kick off. Think their fans were stunned at their abject performance, particularly in the 2nd half..
They were singing "we only want a shot" which pretty much summed them up

There were also 16 visible inside the stadium - total overkill for the relatively small number of supporters.

I don't necessarily think people feel safer when they see large numbers of police. The first though must be to wonder whether trouble is expected, especially when the usual police attendance at a MFC match is none.
