Time to blood some of the youngsters

I believe we played the youngsters last season against cambridge.i think the result was 7_0.No good to anyone.

The youngsters have been playing in the reserves, but it's a different kettle of fish playing at league 2 level, and I think 90 minutes would stretch their match fitness too much. I think better to give them the last 30 minutes, if anything, as long as we're not miraculously putting on a sterling home performance for the fans that we don't want to disrupt!

We didn't start the Cambridge game with a massively weakened side. I would go as far to say that 3 of them would walk into our team straight away.

Nobody disputes that they have worked miracles with all that has happened this season, but to all intent and purpose the season is now over and we've have achieved our first objective and that is retention of League football. I still maintain despite what others might think that now is the ideal time to give both Hadley and Jordan a full 90 minutes to see if they have the potential of making the starting line ups next season.

Now is the ideal time to 'blood' them rather than the odd 20 minutes during a game that has significance next season.

Interesting to read the team v Cambridge.....hardly blessed with youth...

Have to admit I don't know how much we get for our final league position, but can't imagine that it will be that significantly different if we finish a few positions higher thna just above the relegated positions.

No doubt someone will be able to provide actual details that will be of interest.

In terms of overall financial distributions, all League clubs receive a share of what is called 'facility fees' which encompass broadcasting revenue, which for the current 15/16 season is as follows:



Facilities Fees (per club - '000)

Championship - £2.1m

League 1 - £680k

League 2 - £474k



Each club receives the same amount. There are no ladder payments depending on where clubs finish. However in addition, The Football League and Premier League have a separate agreement with regards to solidarity payments. Currently all clubs in The League therefore also receive a share of the solidarity money as follows:



Solidarity (per club - '000)

Championship - £2.3m

League 1 - £360k

League 2 - £240k



Clubs also receive money from live TV broadcasts as follows:



TV Broadcast fees per match (per club - '000) Championship - Home Club League £100k, away club League £10k League 1 - Home club League £30k, away club League £10k League 2 - Home club League£30k, away club League £10k



Aside from this clubs earn revenue through ticket sales, matchday income and non-matchday income streams. For any further specific information please contact clubs directly.

Define 'a weakened team'....

If they are squad players (as they are) then I doubt that the league would judge their inclusion as 'weakening the team'.... but what do i know... .

Irrelevant really as I can't see Jim and Co giving them game time....unfortunately.

No point throwing them in now from the start if anything I'd give Luke Jordon the 2nd half maybe. Looks like we'll have a fully fit squad more or less the last 2 games so I say go all out and try and get maximum points ! Might be the last we see of a lot of them tomorrow we never know !

Ben Hedley gone on loan to Witton

Could be the start of an on going loan exercise for some of our younger squad players, which I'm all in favour of. It gives the players valuable game time and gives Jimbo feed back from the clubs concerned about their progress or otherwise.

Burnley had constant reports on Whitmore's progress last season and his success based on feed backs could have been instrumental in giving him a further 12 months at his parent club who to progress his career further now see him on loan until January at Bury. It will be interesting to see how much game time he gets at Bury as he's probably third choice at centre back. Little wonder that he's reported to have preferred another loan with ourselves where he would have been guaranteed continuous game time. Little use to him and Burnely sitting on the bench.
