I would like to see Hartlepool survive for Jeff Stelling's sake.

Newport are two points ahead of Hartlepool so are favourites to stay up.
They are at home to Notts County and Hartlepool are also at home to the champions Doncaster.
Hartlepool have no other option but to win, otherwise they are relegated.
If Newport win, they survive anyway.
The interesting part is if Hartlepool can win, and Newport draw, and they both finish on 46 points,
then Hartlepool would survive on a slender goal difference advantage.

In the unlikely scenario of Hartlepool winning 1-0 and Newport drawing 4-4 they would finish with identical points, goal difference and goals scored. What do they use to seperate them in that scenario? Head to head record? Least number of goals conceeded?

Firstly, if goal difference and goals scored are the same, so is goals conceded. However, Hartlepool have a goal difference already one better than Newport, so if Hartlepool win and Newport draw, Hartlepool stay up on goal difference.

Hartlepool v Doncaster is the live game on Sky (at the same time as we play Luton). I wonder if Jeff Stelling will be doing the commentary... hope so!

Bloody hell, what a last few minutes! Hartlepool beat Doncaster and were staying up until Newport scored in the 89th minute!

At the other end of the table, Doncaster, Plymouth and finally Portsmouth were in the Champions position!
