I think you will find negotiations with an interested party will now progress rapidly , and a 'new' owner will be in place very soon, we are in no rush to sign anyone but Jim will now be able to at least offer potential targets a positive picture regarding the clubs future, we can expect a retained list .....damn, wrong thread

Yes someone who:
a. Has £2000 a day in spare cash
or
b. Has the skill to find us another 1000 regular paying fans
or
c. Has the wherewithall to get new businesses involved, invest in the structure and increase our revenue streams.

a, b and c would be a good start

Pieces of the jigsaw are now in place with just a final few to complete the picture.

From what I know, Abdul and Bernard effectively own the club by default and don't represent the long term future of the club, albeit Abdul has and is kindly propping us up with his money.

Am I right in saying that, and does that mean that we are 'for sale' again?

It would be great if we had somebody lined up to buy who was ethical, rich and in it for the right reasons but I'll believe it when I see it.

who ever buys us, it's going to be the same for them as it as been for us every season since the move to the Globe "Home Form" when most "Paying" Morecambe fans watch the team play, need to witness better results.

and that's better result at home, then obviously locally other people will take notice and want a piece of the action.

Abdullah will certainly want his money back and I wouldn't be surprised if Gb is only in it for a short period of time whilst a new owner with more empathy towards our club assumes ownership in the not too distant future.

It's possible that negotiations are at an advance stage already as well as certain assurances to Jimbo towards next season...... :) ;) :)

Surely by the weekend the club will release a statement on the contract situations of players next week if GB can't sell then there must be some type of budget for jim to work with and start making plans for next season. We need an extra 4 squad players plus any what depart elsewhere and with only 5 signed up things need to be getting sorted asap !

Most transfer activity takes place after july 2nd every season, as thats when most players are paid up till, we are not in a position, even when we have a new owner, to be paying wages before we have to.

I have a feeling that Rod may drop a few hints to whats going on at the ''do'' on saturday, so best get your tickets folks!!

Players who get released can sign pre contracts though like we've done with players in the last at the end of seasons. Maybe we'll see a retained list at least by the weekend. Any info on the ones currently out of contract ?

Well spotted by Rob Ellis.

Posted on Graham Burnard's LinkedIn profile. I think this puts pay to any notion that a deal to sell the club is on the table. It also means we're reliant on two people - Abdullah and Graham - who don't want to be there or they would have joined the board.

Another problem is the arbitrary nature of the post. No links to any documents or website and no additional information. Also his job seems a bit weird - it says, "GHB soirting (sic) club selling agents". Also liked by Michael Williams, friend of Cala (although Rob assures me he's lost interest and in China).

We've gone back up to Defcon 5.

Of course I got it wrong and I should have said Defcon 1. Only the Americans could put together a state of alert system where the lowest number is the highest level of threat.
