Michael Rose signs new contract?

Michael Rose signs new contract?

Postby Christies Child » Mon Jun 05, 2017 1:23 pm

This was mentioned in the Baz signing but for me deserves a thread of it's own.

Only a rumour thanks to BerlinWaller but if true.....bloody excellent and if made team Captain his experience and leadership will be invaluable to the incoming youngsters.

Just hope it's true.... :?: :?: :?:

However a word of caution. Such an acknowledged important player for us, I would have thought the club would have made an announcement before now.... :o

It is true, and we could be seeing a former player back very soon too.

We have never successfully replaced Kieran, whose on field pointing and gesturing was a vital component of our rise up the Conference.
This much missed skill, under used in the modern game, would re-invigorate our directional abilities no end.

In my humble opinion Sir James of Harvey in his playing days at Christie Park was "simply the best" pointer ever to grace Morecambe Football Club.
Freez is correct in his assertion that a central midfield gesticulator is vital to our team development.

Good news if true, feel like he needs someone mobile next to him tho when he played alongside Murphy and Kenyon last season it showed at times with no pace in the middle. Him flemmo wildig and one more active midfielder would be good options

Top 3 pointers of all time MFC players:

1) Kieran Walmsley
2) Jim Harvey
3) Dave Sharples

Couldn't argue with that.
A close fourth is Jimmy Collins, whose high pitched squeal that only adjacent dogs could receive was also an important factor, but his pointing was quite good.
Sharpy, with his page boy blonde haircut and cheeky smile looked all the world a quality midfielder. The fact that he couldn't tackle, head or pass straight defied the image he portrayed mind! :D

As our lonely Prawn amigo pointed out, Jim Harvey was the Godfather of pointing, particularly when coming on as sub in the NPL. Rightly in the top three for me.
