Molyneux released.

Fleming offered a new deal  sounds like it's a backwards step to me...just like his play.

Did nothing last season whilst Moly contributed goals at crucial times.

Terrible decision....

Unless you know the details of the offer to both players I fail to see how you can judge.

I certainly don't agree with it being a terrible decision.
Molly leaving opens the door for Thommo I think.

I like Flemmo, just wished he'd made more progress since he arrived.. I thought we had a gem when he first came on the scene

At the end of season 2015 /16 Jimbo said that Fleming had to earn a contract for this coming season.

Considering the number of times he played a full 90 minutes whilst spending a lot of time on the bench in the season just gone, how can it be that he has 'earned' a new contract.... :?: :?: :?:

As already said a backwards move ...or should that be sideways...

Obviously others will have a different viewpoint.

Fleming was superb in some games this season and picked up a few MOTM awards from what I can remember. He doesn't score many goals but we're probably not guna attract any better players in that position.

Right decision in my opinion. Fleming is inconsistent but when he's good he's very good. He produced a number of outstanding performances last season despite not starting many games. Molyneux has been one of Jim's worst signings. The occasional wonder strike does not make up for consistently misplacing short passes. I will be surprised if he plays in the Football League again.

Exactly how I feel. Brilliant decision by Jim. Lee is a liability and isn't a game changer.

Fleming's one of the few we have who'll get stuck in and tackle, even if he is a little over enthusiastic at times. He also works well as a foil for more creative players like Devitt, who seem to bring that bit extra out of him. I know that with a small squad a utility player like Moly is extremely useful, but Flemmo's the better player for us, in my opinion.

I think Moly's problem was that he was played in too many different positions (often 2 or 3 different positions in the same game), so he never really "gel-led" with the other players around him to form strategic partnerships etc. I said at the time, I thought the same thing happened with Paz when he started going downhill (I remember one game when he played in 4 different positions). It's obviously good to have utility players who can play in several different positions, but it is a double-edged sword as you really lose continuity. The way I saw it, Moly was usually good as a left back (certainly better than Conlan), but never really looked comfortable nor effective in any of the 3 midfield positions he was often played in.

Wonder what the percentages would be for Fleming and his sideways / back passes.... :?: :?: :?:

As somebody posted earleir, promised so much in his earlier years but has stagnated if not gone backwards in recent seasons.

OK.
CC you are entitled to your opinion, based on what you see, that's half the games if its home games only. So that's a fair few games.
However, for me, Flemo has again got injured or suspended when in a rich vein of form earlier in the season, and has been MOM more than once.
I agree he can be a frustrating player at times, but other times he is adept at nipping the ball away and starting raids from anywhere.
Daft to get rid of him for me unless we can guarantee getting someone better.

Totally agree with this, flemmo was very good in games this season home and away. You know what your getting from him over a full season and it's good enough for me for him to get another year. Him rose and wildig isn't a bad to have in your centre midfield positions !

Still need a midfield 'animal' like Yard Dog. Too often our midfield has lost out with an inability to win the 50 50 balls....both on the deck and in the air.
