:D :D :D

Delighted.

Can see GT in a central role playing just behind a new central striker (Oliver :?: ) rather than charging up and down the wings

Looking at the picture of him with the No7 shirt is that a clue as to what our new home shirt will be with the training shirt to be as worn by Thommo..... ;) ;) ;)

Don't think he will be the same player he was but will see. Think we need a variety of players against different teams throughout the season. Shame we didn't get you sooner but welcome back Thommo.

I want Artell back next and Jesus. ;)

Why would we want Jesus? Haven't we got three goalkeepers already??

I was only joking he has long retired. So why have we really got three keepers anyway, that is a good point.

good signing still a lot to offer, doubt he'll have the same pace to fly around fullbacks, unless he's like Aaron Robben who gets faster with age.

quite excited at this thought 4 2 3 1

--------------------------Baz

right back - center back - center back - left back

------------------Rose -------Kenyon

-------------Thomson - Wildig - Ellison

-----------------------Campbell

Last season Thommo had Akinfenwa and Paul Hayes, two class acts at this level, ahead of him in any selection decisions about central striker (though he did still get time in that role and did pretty well a few times, bagging a few goals).
Previously (for example at Bradford with Hanson) he had other central strikers in front of him as first choice.
It may be that Jim has him in mind more centrally, as some have said on here, with the likes of Kev, Campbell, Wildig, even Turner if he can more consistently produce the form he showed in brief flashes last season, flitting around him.
Thommo is strong, holds the ball up well and is good at spotting the chance for a good pass. He can head the ball well and, as we know, shoots with either foot, which is always an issue for anyone trying to mark him.

In that role his fading pace isn’t so much of an issue.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

yeah, maybe Shrimper.

now you mention it, seen him play in a televised game for Wycombe, think it was last season and he was playing more central, and thought he'd certainly filled out more physically.

remember thinking his legs were like like tree trunks and reminded me of Mark Hughes(Wales) back in the day and how he played.

Turner has the pace but not a finisher which concerns me out of the current strikers we currently have. Kev will score if not injured or banned. Need a goal scorer but they cost unless we find one released. Amond or Painter but Jim will have others in mind.
