I feel like Jim's preferred formations are 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 and that he likes to make use of both depending on who we're playing. I would say:

Lund would appear to be a right back. I'm guessing he and McGowan will compete for a place on the right side of defence whilst Conlan and Brough will be battling it out for the left back spot.

Lund played 30 games at left back and 5 as a cb so think he will play cb unless we sign another cb

Personally I think we need a dedicated centre back to replace the hole left by both Edwards and Whitmore.

Possibly a loan from a Premier league club again and I'd be delighted if Whatmore was given another season with us as he improved with every game whilst with us.....but I doubt that Burnley will allow him to return prefering him to gain experience elsewhere.
