Bamber Bridge Tuesday 7.30pm

Bamber Bridge Tuesday 7.30pm

Postby Christies Child » Sun Jul 09, 2017 10:42 am

BB played their first pre season friendly yesterday v a PNE 11 that included some Academy players and lost 7-0.

No doubt we'll play as many of our squad as possible to give them some game time following their Saturday 11 v 11 game on Turners field.

Tuesday's game could be an opportunity to see a number of triallists and news / rumours about a further 2 /3 signings... :?: :?: :?:

Subs weren't listed. 1-1 at the moment apparently.

Plenty to be positive about. Definitely in need of a centre half regardless if Kenyon (who played well) continues to be deployed there. Centre midfield trialist looked tidy but similar mould to what we already have in Wildig. Some of the younger players really impressed though. Notably Deakin, Headly and Yawson

Young u21development squad player Reecedeakin was the pick of the second 45 squad. Got a superb turn of speed. Squad player No17 Michael Lund our loanee from Doncaster impressed as did Campbell in the first 45 squad.

Still need a centre half and would be excellent if we could get Whitmore back on loan from Burnley.

Have to admit that Fleming was excellent tonight, if only he could replicate that in League 2..... ;) h

Twas a good workout tonight. Jim has a job on to decide his first X1 with choices in most areas.
Tonight made it clear that we need a No.5 , which is no offence to Alex who was looking after that position with aplomb in the 2nd half.

Currently I would probably only get 5 names right in the starting line up against Cheltenham

Thanks for the lift, ;)

3 triallists named but 1 is already on the under 21 development Squad...Reece Deakin.

The other 2 did nothing to get excited about and possibly not eough to warrant a further look.

1 was a centre half and the other a midfielder who looked as though he wanted to give a lot of instructions to others but didn't do enough on his own to impress me.

Neil, If you didn't know how good Thommo was, did you see enough to get excited about??

No thought not.

I wouldn't base anybody's ability on 45 minutes against Brig in the opening friendly, to be fair.

However Brig looked useful and it was a decent run out on a nice evening. And quite a few fans took advantage of the ability to hold a pint and watch the game outside at the same time!!

Oi!! My perfectly balanced plastic pot was doing fine thank you, until I somehow managed to land it on a divot with a missing piece of wood where 2 planks were not joined together properly!

Don't think Heysham Shrimp was too chuffed though as it was a full one when it hit the back of his trousers

Just because I didn't mention Thommo doesn't mean I didn't appreciate how good he was. Just as I didn't mention Rose who for me bossed our first half game.

In fact the only 'existing ' squad player who we have seen in seasons past who I commented on was Fleming who on the night was superb with some of his cross field passes. Here's hoping that he can replicate that form in games that really matter.
