Preston preview

Postby Christies Child » Tue Jul 18, 2017 10:36 am

Full preview now on the OWS.

JIm talks about the need to bring in a few more bodies to the squad and in particular the need for an experienced centre half.

We've tried to bring Whitmore back on loan but to date no joy.

He also mentions that we've tried to bring back a former player and that a further trialist was expected to be with the squad yesterday.

In the meantime whilst still actively seeking additional bodies it's a time for some of the younger players to show what they have starting with tonights oppoents who will provide a much sterner test than our two previous pre season opponents. In a previous interview Jim said that tonight will be more about concentrating on our defensive shape in readiness for the season ahead.

The way I read the article the former player he's tried to bring back was Whitmore.

It could have been read that way but could also have implied that he tried to bring back someone like Jack Redshaw... :?:

How are we playing?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

So how did that work out then?

Jim was correct when he said the game would be about our defensive shape. Hardly an attacking threat from us in the entire game. Mind you PNE looked pretty but no cutting edge on this performance. Their latest manager was going mental in the dug out.

Was there a decent number of spectators on last night please?

Couldn't make it sadly.

That sounds about right to me. Still haven't had a figure for the Lancaster game though!
