"Abdul has pledged to fund us for the next 2 years"

Postby Keith » Fri Jul 28, 2017 6:13 pm

Apparently "Abdul has pledged to fund us for the next 2 years" according to Marky's post in another thread.

Any more news on this?
Does this mean we're financially stable for the next two years?
Any info on team spending?
Is the club still up for sale?
No risk of administration this year?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Can't believe that Keith is the only one to pick up on this. If true (and I certainly hope that it is), there ought to be loads and loads of posts on this. I know that it's out of season but what do we get? Loads of posts about a song game and other O/T stuff.

A very significant statement and something that I would hope to see more on - both on here and on own website.

I thinks it's because Abdul no longer shows his face around the place :? .. Any other person would be swanning around everywhere feeling famous.
Let's just make the most of it, hope he and we come out the other end in 2019
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

That's all that was said by Rod on the subject, so I suppose he's the best person to ask if you want to know more.

Could it be the Abdul has had to put so much money in that to get it all back he needs to look more longer term view and it's going to take a couple of years to turn the club around and make it more attractive for potential buyers.

Abdul has planned for the next two years, and isn't going to be around, because he is serving in the quatar national army.

..isn't it also an Islamic principal that if one states that they will help in some way that they have to honour their commitment for an agreed period of time :?: If so then we owe him and his family a huge thank you for saving our club from who knows what :!:

I'd also like to think that this gives all parties concerned time to seek out a potential club buyer with a real empathy for our club...possibly even a consortium of local businessmen which is, I would guess the preferred option for the vast majority of the clubs fans.

I think as an owner you have to make a guarentee to the football league that you are willing to support a club financially for up to two years to pass the requirements of the flawed fit and proper persons test. Unsure how robust or legally binding this pledge ultimately is, but at this stage we've no reason to doubt Abdul or his continued involvement with the club and financial support - he could've walked away last year when the writing appeared to be on the wall.

Your main strategy seems to be ....repeat a thing often enough and it will come true :D I don't believe that really works CC but if it does we'll all be happy. However, in the meantime, it's really rather boring putting forward the same old line all the time.

Although this is great news I still think there are a lot of unanswered questions remaining from last year.

Is the club still running at a massive loss and is Abdul just happy to plug the gap for two years?

After all the talk of different sets of accounts/registered companies and an accountant would have a field day, has Abdul/Burnuard finally figured it all out and put things in some sort of order?

What's happening with PMG leisure?

I still don't understand what the new company for the land Burnard set up was for.

Has Burnuard & Abdul just left everything to Rod & Co now and they are taking a back seat?
