The introduction of Turner made a big difference to the game up to that point we had very little width and no pace, hopefully he will start next week along with Campbell either behind Oliver or out on the right.

Kenyon was once again excellent in the back 4.

Thought Rhys Turner was excellent and ran with the ball brilliantly a couple of times - should have scored though; Adam Campbell played really well, linked up play excellently and put in some decent through balls; and agree on Kenyon and McGowan.

On the other hand we really do need a couple of decent centre backs. Winnard didn't look solid at all and Brough was great going forward but slipped up a couple of times at the back. Three at the back with Brough and AJ as wing backs would be good if we had centre backs.

Hopefully Kev is saving himself for the season ahead as he had a nothing game.

Winnard looked clumsy today.... when he came off he was shaking his head as if he knew that wasn't his best game.
AJ looks a lot more physical and doesn't seem to get intimidated

Defensively we look a lot more solid this season and if we can add trialist number 5 and another central defender (maybe Whitmore) to Old and Winnard we look pretty strong at the back especially if Baz is back soon as seems likely.

Unfortunately we don't look to have many goals in us at the moment. That may change although I believe that the management team are keen to bring in another forward. Let's hope he can score 15/17 goals if they can get someone. I can see Oliver scoring 10 or 12 and Kev , Thommo , Rhys Turner , Campbell , Wildig , Reece Deacon all scoring 5 or 6 each , maybe more. A goal poacher would be handy to get the goals scored up to the 60 mark.

I'm hoping that our pre season games to date are not what we can expect when the real stuff starts next weekend.

Once again our No5 impressed but sadly Winnard and Kevin were both below the level of performances to guarantee a starting role.

Our lack of fire power must be worrying as in Oliver we have someone who can provide the knock downs for a partner who plays close to him not totally divorced from his contributions.

I'd like to think that Whitmore will be seen at the Globe ASAP as well as an additional forward and a strong tackling midfielder....but may not be a realistic wish.

Burnley are looking to loan AW out in league 1 with assurances regarding game time, if nothing transpires at that level we will bw getting him back until at least January.
