2 woeful teams then! Wonder If JB is happier than Gary Johnson? The game could be a goalfest or a drab 0-0
Don't worry be happy!

Good to see such cheerful optimism before the season starts

For me If you think that pre season results mean anything at all, that's the woeful part.
Experimenting and trying people in different positions and numerous subs make it the results all meaningless for me.

Should have had four yesterday, Wildig yet again must be kicking himself, a one on one and a tap in missed, lad needs a goal.
As does Oliver whom was a handful yesterday and won more than his fair share of headers, needs someone playing off him for me.
Turner has has suddenly kicked on against Fylde and Rochdale for a half, taking people on and getting into some good positions so let's hope the penny has dropped there as he could be useful if he was consistent.
Like the look of Lund and Brough so far, could be tricky Saturday with Old making his debut against the lofty front players of Cheltenham but we should learn a lot about him in that situation.

AJ played very well yesterday, he was as good as he was poor against Fylde, so again he needs consistency to kick on.

Thomson alongside Oliver for me with Campbell or Wildig behind him.

I assume you are refering to Nivic who as I've posted numerous times before is a more than an able deputy for Baz and considering he'd just spent the best part of 24 hours on a plane then having to play AFC it's little surprising that he had a poor game by his standards. However he played well yesterday and I've no problem with him being in next weeks starting line up...and for a few weeks after.

Both our new full backs are looking more than capable of holding their own in League 2 in fact oth have cosiderable experience of League football.

The central defender issue looks to be finding some sort of solution, but I'd be surprised if jimbo throws the new lad into the fray next Saturday and I'm still optomistic that we'll see the return of Whitmore. The No5 continues to impress me especially wiith his considered distribution and it will be interesting to see if (hopefully) he's given a contract and then his name can be officially released....his mum and dad may become regulars at The Globe once again :!:

Who is Jumeau , the Morecambe sub keeper yesterday. I thought Maher was the reserves keeper.

Ollie Jumeau is, I believe, a former Carnforth Rangers Junior Goalkeeper who was signed by the club in January to become a MFC Development Squad player.

If true, this is all credit to our club for scouting in the local leagues for possible recruits who our Development Management team think have the makings of a profesional contract further down the line.

It's also good for the local based players who will now know that if they show potential that they can have a crack at securing a place within our Development programme especially as the club has now gained Level 3 Academy status which is a tremendous step forward for our club.

:) :) :)

I agree, pre-season is meaningless.

So how did that work out then?

I assume you are refering to Nivic :

He was referring to AJ (McGowan).

On the Wildig thing... the lad seems to be getting into a right tizz about scoring and, while it'd be nice to see him contributing with a few this season (and he's shown he does have the ability in front of goal) I want him to concentrate on what he really does best, linking play between deep midfield and the forwards.
When he's at his best, that's his speciality - and it's one thing we really need this season. Hopefully he can do that consistently and build up his 'assists' stats, adding to it the ability to use his pace over ten yards to burst through into the box himself.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Yes, he touched on that last week at the forum. He has set himself a target but won't tell anyone what it is in case he doesn't reach it.
Like the way he said Jim showed belief in him when he signed, so it was 'an easy decision' to extend his contract showing the same support to the manager and of course his girlfriend who is very happy here.

with Wildig a traditional number "10" is the term your looking for, also we've got Campbell aswell now for that job, he slipped in some nice through balls on Saturday when he came on.

Unless I've missed something and I don't think I have the club HAVE NOT achieved level 3 academy status yet. It has been given permission by the EFL and premier league to advance towards achieving it which I believe normally takes around 12/18mths of very hard work. They are however on the road towards it which in itself is a major achievement considering all the problems we have endured as a club.
