Proud of the team tonight ,3-1 down and we kept the belief something we haven't done for a while. Gave a decent championship team something to think about tonight

Well done lads - a cracking effort.

Attacking play sounded great, just need a bit of work on the defence (familiar story?).

We can do well with this team in L2 this season.......COYS :D :D :D

Entertaining game. We really grew into it and gave them a real test. The training must be paying off! :D

Great game last night. Were the better team in the second half and really didn't deserve to lose. Oliver once again proving a real handful. 100 Shrimps making some decent noise in a huge away stand.

Last game of the season for me (jetting off to Thailand) but plenty to be positive about. Get to Wembley and I will have to pop back for the weekend. ;)

Sounded like a superb performance from our lads, but not sure what to make of their goals at such crucial times in the game. 2nd, 46th and 94th minute other than possibly a certain amount of lack of concentration.

One thing for cetain is that we seem to have got a squad of players who all have something to bring to the table.

So pleased that Vadine got his first goal (of many) for our club and made up for Sam and Reece getting their first team debuts albeit Reece as a second 45 sub.

Would be interesting to hear how the two of them performed on the night.

If we could now get an additional striker and a real 'bastard' in midfield then for me the team is sorted.

Well done to all the lads and lasses who made the trip but sorry that Freez and Co couldn't make it.

Only downside of the night was once again Radio Accrington going over the top about their win over PNE. Sorry but Dan Jewel really is a *osser....

Thought we started off quite slowly and the massive pitch took some getting used to, especially with 3 at the back. We started to get back into it and had a fair share of the game in the last 20 of the first half.

The first and third goals were awful to concede but I don't think much could have been done about the 2nd and 4th.

2nd half we were superb, really impressed with how we came out after conceding the third. Pretty much dominated it and they were heavily reliant on counters for the majority of the half.

Gotta say I had my doubts with Oliver before he signed, but I was wrong, very very wrong. Vadaine has been nothing short of superb so far, keep it up.

Lavelle was steady away, looks to have fitted in quite comfortably and it was a great finish for his goal, he loved it aswell. Everyone put a shift in last night to be fair, really encouraging stuff, hopefully they aren't too tired for Lincoln on Saturday.

Good game last night

Postby Arnside Red » Wed Aug 09, 2017 7:10 pm

Barnsley dominated most of the first half and were running rings around Morecambe initially but the second half was a different story and it was really entertaining, could have gone either way at 3-3...most of the Barnsley side are new signings and do need time to gell, Pearson and Potts only signed back end of last week.......good atmosphere in the away end, the rest of Oakwell was like a morgue and I know a lot of Barnsley fans were full of praise for the way Morecambe played and battled to the end.........great night despite the shitty weather.....

What was the official crowd and away following? Looked about 3000 with about 100 Shrimps.

Not seen a total crowd but Quinny tweeted that there were 151 Shrimps.

I've just got in touch with the Barnsley press office. The official figure was 4.062.
