Cheers! You watching? I feel pretty cynical about it, which - trust me - is usually a good sign, actually!
@ShrimpsOfCanada for my Morecambe centric comments.
@DrRetro for Toronto FC, CanPL, and general Canadian commentary and profanity about the same.

Don't think many will argue with you about your assessment. Yet again our midfield didn't win enough individual battles and very little in the air.

If what is said in another post about Podge....get him back to play alongside Oliver who is more than capable of making the openings but badly needs someone working alongside of him for us to capitalise on. No point in having someone who wins a good percentage of his headers if there's nobody close enough to pick up the knock ons.

Fleming played ok in parts but all too often had space in front of him to run with the ball but chose to halt and pass either sideways or back. He wasn't doing that in preseason, quite the opposite so why reverse to type....most annoying.

Very frustrating game, I thought Swindon were there for the taking. Last 5 mins putting them under all sorts of pressure, could easily of snatched a equaliser at the end - should of been like that as soon as we came out second half imo.

Bloody time wasters that's for sure....but credit to them for playing with 4 front men on occasions. Didn't really threaten much during the game but neither did our lone striker.

Certainly there for the beating but so bloody frustrating that it takes us till nearly the 90th minute for us to put them under any serious pressure.

Jim was saying he has a budget for 2 more players.

One surely must be a striker. Maybe the budget for 2 players should all be used on one striker.

or a midfielder with bite who can actually pass the ball forwards!! Think i saw one pass forward from Flemmo but it might've been caught by the wind :o

poor Fleming, so easily bumped off the ball and then caught in possession, then no confidence to use the space in front of him, so backwards sideways passes the order of the day.

to be fair Play Makers at our level cost an arm n a leg!

and if you think about it, how many midfielders have we had since we've been in the FL who as been able to thread forward balls consistently throughout a game ?

I can only think of Craney who came on loan with Jevon's, at Christie Park and then Goodall the other season on his day spraying the ball about was class!

and although I liked Criag Stanley and McDonald in Central Midfield both tended to go sideways or back favouring to keep possession of the ball.

Bit frustrating to see everyone turn on Fleming so quickly after it was all gushing over him in pre-season and in the first few games of the season. The guy's obviously got a lot of quality and was showing it in the first few games this season, the games come thick and fast at this time so fair enough he's had one off game. Give the man a bloody break!

Flemmo was guilty of the worst non pass ever seen in league football. A quick counter, Flemmo picks up the ball just inside the circle, plenty of time and Wildig bursting past him for a clear run on goal. A toe neb would have done, he could have knelt down and headed it in to Wildigs path, it was a pass that my dear old Dad could have pulled off. Flemmo never even saw the pass and that is unforgivable. He muffed up his touch and cried for a foul. You can kind of look past the lack of ability but not seeing the pass was horrible.

He probably decided against the pass when he realised it was Wildig
