Is anybody else waiting to hear if their flights with Ryan Air could be cancelled?

My wife and I are due to fly out of Manchester on Saturday 30 September to spend 10 days in Chania, Crete but at the moment we are waiting to see if within the next 36 hours our flights out and return on Tuesday 10 October are still on schedule.

Evidently due to pressure Ryan Air are informing would be passengers with flights booked up to and including 30 October in the next 36 hours of their position.

Never flown with this carrier before and unlikely to do so again even if our flights are honoured....

Aye, Iceland in search of the Northern Lights on October 16th.

the accommodation is booked with booking.com, so I checked yesterday, worse case scenario I'll only lose £75 if cancelled at short notice as oppose to full amount.

They are now saying that ALL cancelled flights until the end of October will be published tonight.

I wait to see if that actually happens....

Eh? Surely they need the 'outgoing' flight in order to have a plane for a 'inbound' flight?

Edit! oh Northern Lights going on a night boat trip from Reykjavik, about 30miles offshore, the less light pollution the better the chance of seeing it.

Flown with these lot twice before. After the 2nd time I decided never again.

I don't think they'll give a shit about the bad publicity, people will still fly with them if they're the cheapest. I'd rather pay 10 or 20 quid more and just go on easyjet or jet2 personally.

All budget airlines are a bit tight on the quality but Ryanair is the only one where it feels like they're taking the piss out of you.

I think everyone should stop using them, if they can't organise holiday cover for their own pilots would you trust them with your holidays?

I was using the app Kayak or skyscanners and flights with multiple airlines were going from £300 - £400 some not even direct. Easy-jet £78 direct I thought yeah right, it's just click bait, but no, so it's worth the gamble huge savings if your flexible.

but I can see what people are saying, I always try and avoid British Airways I don't trust them, notorious for going on strike, especially if your going on long flights to places like Australia etc and been saving up and planning for ages paying around the £1000 mark.

Just had an email from them updating their cabin bag policy from November 1st... your cabin bag now has to be less than 35cm x 20cm x 20cm .. "If you want to bring 2 cabin bags on board you must add Priority Boarding" or put the bag in the hold

Every airline is terrible if you are unlucky enough to have encountered a problem with them. GD has mentioned BA, but I have down a number of long haul flights with them without any problems at all.

I've travelled a fair bit with Ryanair too, they are what they are. Generally if you stick to the rules and play their games, you don't have any problems. I have also paid more to go on Terry's mini-bus than I have for several flights around Europe, in some cases return, and there was only one winner for comfort!

Their new baggage policy just means you have to check in your bag first (for free) instead of them taking it off you at the gate which was a bit of a farce anyway.

Anyone who's flown Ryanair knows what it can be like in the cabin on the way back with a full load of fully laden holidaymakers. Quite happy to see these changes brought in, as long as they enforce them, which they often didn't with the old allowances leading to even more of a farce.

Unfortunately for us, the only airline that goes to Chania in Crete direct that is remotely affordable is Ryan Air and is a scheduled service.

To book a flight only via a tour operator was astronomical. For example a well known Tour operator quoted us over £950 return for the two of us....

Ryan Air was 50% cheaper.
