...and just in case there is even more of an anorak than I (and ancient)..does anybody know which
engines headed the Wembley special in '74 or the York trip in '66. Sad I know, but I never did get the numbers !

P.S. Have got my pen, ruler & combined volume at the ready just in case there is a cop in it for me .

Nothing as simple as that Steve...40 mins research on various competitions.
Bournemouth was a tricky one to discount as well as Lincoln, even though they played each other
in lge 2 playoff final in 2003 it was at at the Millenium Stadium.

Just googling the answer is for pub quiz cheats and you miss out on any tangential information.

Yes - but he wasn't one of my original two.... I've updated my question

GD - Teddy is incorrect - he played for West Ham and Man United in finals but not Spurs. I think the last time Spurs were in a final was 1991, st which point Sherringham was at Millwall on the verge of a move to Nottm Forest (who Spurs beat in the '91 Final).

Paul Ince is incorrect.

The one I always like is this. (If you've heard it before, let it run for a while, eh?)..

1979 - Sunderland
1980 - ????
1981 - Villa

:)
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!
