Not sure, but it's 2 years... from next Summer when their current contracts expire. Good news for me because whoever is in charge would have their hands tied in the current climate and you may as well stick with what you know, especially as the club means so much to them.

The flip side is that if any club comes in for Jim they will have to pay compensation to get him. He is still highly regarded by many pundits and if he were to do a decent job then I'm sure his name would get banded about again.

All too often this season the word 'soft' has been used to describe our performances yet despite winning 1 game in the last 14 the manager is rewarded with an extension. What message does that send to the players? There should be a mentality of "we're fighting for our futures here" (quite literally) at the moment but it's "OK, we're little old Morecambe just doing what we can". Why not delay the signing/announcement until we hit a good run of form?
I completely appreciate what Jimbo did for the club last season and any other manager would have walked away and got another job elsewhere. If an extension was being considered, it should have been dealt with during the summer, but right now, during a terrible run with crucial games coming up, it has left me scratching my head. Lose our next 2 games and we could be in the relegation zone.

We are going downhill... If you think the situation is not "broken," then, I am sorry but, you are deluded. We have the best and biggest squad we have had in a long while and we are doing worse with it! And then Jim & Ken get a 2 yr contract extension!! It's madness. I'm sorry, but if we truly want to grow as a club, there needs to be managerial changes at the end of this season, if we're not relegated by then... I am not one to be excessively negative but I think this news is very strange and may hold the club back until July 2020...

Can we afford to sack Jim and Ken (pay their contracts). If not then the decision to extend their contracts could relegate us.
