Fans Forum 12/10/17

Postby Shrimps Trust » Mon Oct 09, 2017 7:22 am

The club is hosting a Fans Forum immediately following their AGM this coming Thursday. Supporters that are not shareholders of Morecambe Football Club limited are advised to meet in JB's Bar from 19:30. Owing to the historic nature of the financial results being presented at the AGM, it is not expected to take very long.

The Forum has not been particularly well advertised other than announcements at the game on Saturday and at the JB's Bar relaunch. At the relaunch Rod Taylor advised that there will be some big news released at the forum. Its a great opportunity to ask the board any questions/concerns you may have about the running of the club.

We hope that the forum is well attended, please spread the word amongst your Shrimps supporting pals.

Couldn't go last night - can someone who went please tell us what was said?

Already heard about contract extensions for Jim and Kenny (good news) - anything else of note?

Any potential buyers sniffing around?

What happens after the 2 years are up that Abdul is paying for (if no buyer has been found)?

Any news about ground improvements - Omega end, scoreboard........

Any likelihood we could bring in any new players in January to break the goal drought?

Thanks!

The Abdul backing of the club for a period of 2 years is in accordance with EFL Rules that insist that a commitment by an owner has to be guaranteed for 2 years. Something that I have to admit I wasn't aware of.

I asked the question of Mr Barnard and this news about the EFL Ruling was sited and that going forward the continuance of financial support of Abdul and his family did not have a time limit on it.

As for news of any future owners being in the frame, there has been interest but as of yet there is nothing firm on the table. I did however get the feeling that Abdul and Mr Barnard are happy with the current situation although like us all would like to see an improvement on the field of play.

Rod spoke of the current situation regarding the Omega development and a set of illustrations showing exactly what is NOW planned will be available in the near future. I think that the original thoughts have now moved on to a more expansive proposal that will provide a far superior structure.

The development behind the home end will now thankfully have covered ends as well, to prevent it becoming a wind tunnel.

Anything said about PMG Leisure and the use of the 3g pitches.

Can't help bit feel Abdul needs some massive recognition for keeping is going he must be putting a lot of money in each month. Without him we wouldn't even have a club and it's not like he has any good reason or personal interest to keepers going.

Yes, massive thanks to Abdul for keeping us going after Diego Lemos dropped us in it, and for continuing to support us on an ongoing basis - top bloke!

We were already ''in it'' before Lemos came on the scene, the club was losing money massively and PMG was wanting to jump ship anyway, you could even argue that without Lemos there would have been no Abdullah so maybe ''thanks Diego'' is in order :D
