Is it a coincidence that Jim's contract extension came at a time when there is talk of new owners coming in. I've posted this elsewhere but I do think Jim was given a contract extension because of the continued uncertainty about the future ownership of the club. Imo it's a thank you to Jim for all his efforts both as a player and manager should any new owner decide to dispense with his services. It certainly can't have been given for entertaining performances or results.

I understand Accrington's budget may be a bit more than ours but is it 22 places better

Just like he did at Rochdale.

As has been said, he tells his players they are going to win and seems to install a sheer unwavering confidence into the players. I honestly thought after that brief foray into the play-offs with Windass and co. leaving that they'd be back in the doldrums and but now they're bloody second! I can't help but feel that's a lot down to the immense belief that they're going to win every game, rather than the tepid 'try not to lose attitude' we always have.

Accy have had a much improved player budget two seasons running.
When we matched budgets, we matched performances on the pitch.
But that fact doesn't appear to matter??
This is a dire situation, there appears to be few options of a way out, maybe that's rolling the dice with some of the younger players and loanees and being more positive?
But whinging on about Accy again and again aint one of them.
Yes we are in the shit, but we can't change what Accy do anymore than we can only influence our team by our support.
Just saying....

Whereas we decided to dump all that and try become all corporate with £22 wild boar steaks, an airport lounge for a fan’s bar, over £1 million spent on executive boxes that now sit empty and dressing rooms the opposition love coming to rather than hate like they did at Christie. They have a them spirit whereas we’ve had us and them for 8 years now. We do have directors who sort of understand this problem but they neither own it nor are the chairman. We sold our soul for the soulless, and we’ve been paying for it ever since. The day we finally get an owner and chairman who actually gives a shit about the town and the real fans we might start to get progress on the field too. Getting rid of Jim changes none of that.

We obviously have a much larger non-football commercial side but if we presume that breaks even and isn't loss making, assume we get equal FL money, and the main expense is football wages - how can we possibly have a smaller budget but make a bigger loss?
