Surely the £££££ prize money must come into it for obvious reasons?

Don't treat it as a friendly.

Go out and win the bloody thing.

Staying in the football league would surely be more lucrative? I'm as desperate as anyone for a cup run but the league has to take priority in my opinion.

Absolutely mate, staying in the Football League is priority number one.

I just see the FA Cup for the prize money, progression to 3rd Round (touch wood), a big draw, hopefully television coverage and money attached to it, and (more importantly) attract some of the fans back to the club on the back of it.

in know what you mean, I've this attitude with other cup competitions, However the FA Cup gets a lot of publicity, and it's not only the extra cash we'd get if we went on a run in this competition, it's also a chance to put is in the shop window with a potential buyer(investor)

Considering that the Hartlepool squad is as last season minus Amond it will be a very close and difficult game for our lads all things considered.

Hartlepool are in a rich vein of form and we will have to improve considerably to get a positive result.

But we can do it if we go out with a winning mentality and concentrate our build up on our performance rather than worrying about the opposition. What will be, will be..but we need to be positive and attack from the off, not wait until we go a goal down.

Sold around 500 tickets already according to a few pools fans. Not bad if true considering its pay on the gate. Should be a good atmosphere.

Draw wouldn't be a bad result, because the replay will almost certainly be on TV. Be a bit embarrassing if we then lost, but at least we'd get some cash (circa £70,000 IIRC).

Second round IS a guarantee.

I'd rather win at home and guarntee 2nd round then speculate on a draw and TV which isn't guaranteed... ;)

Never thought this would be coming but 0-3 is my predicted score. Honestly can’t see us progressing, as if Jim puts more focus into the League Cup with our last few seasons’ decent runs in them... Unless we go out there and attack, and keep on the front foot, I’m still Jim Out and I can’t see us escaping the bottom two unless we treat this as a great opportunity and go ALL OUT to win it.

0-3

We are very familiar with getting many draws this season... oh wait, half of our results are losses!

Well if you bring a 1000 we could get a gate in excess of 1500 :o

Definitely not encouraging us to go for a draw!
I hope we go at them, hell for leather, from minute one!

But with our wonderful FA Cup record...

As an admirer of the amazing intelligence of many breeds of monkeys I hope Hartlepool are thoroughly hung, drawn and quartered, with absolutely no mercy shown whatsoever. Jacques will be looking down on this match and he will be also be angry that the bananas have not been distributed as promised. Listen to Jacques, Mr Drummond!
There will be no monkeys on the Shrimps side on Saturday and no monkeying on the pitch from the home side. Thus I predict, with the will and support of the monkey clans in the great beyond, the day will result in fitting revenge and a unanimous 3-0 victory against those unjust monkey hangers.
