RT's Comments On The Past Week

RT's Comments On The Past Week

Postby Rod Taylor » Fri Nov 03, 2017 11:04 am

Looking at the responses to Wednesday's press release I have to say I am hugely disappointed by the negativity in them. What do you want the Board to do, lie to you? This has been a horrendous twelve months for everyone involved with MFC and I feel that mistakes have been made along the way.

Representatives of the BOD have had two positive meetings with G50 over the past week and we have reported on those meetings publicly. I can assure all of you that we are working extremely hard to secure the long term, secure, future for our football club. We cannot tell you details of these plans, football & business does not work successfully in those circumstances.

If anyone wants a conversation with me, I would be more than happy to oblige, just contact the club and leave your details or email me on rod@morecambefc.com.

The important thing right now is to get behind Jim & the boys this Saturday v Hartlepool United. Encourage anyone you know with an interest in the Shrimps or football generally to get down to the Globe Arena and create a positive atmosphere.

I, like you, care passionately about Morecambe Football Club and I want to ensure that out of the gloom of the past twelve months we come out stronger....TOGETHER.

Rod,

Rest assured that the negativity isn't shared by all, and some of us do appreciate that these discussions have to be confidential until such time as it is appropriate to put them in the public domain. I do still feel slightly negative about the football, mind you, although Mrs A & I have been fortunate enough to miss the worst home performances due to holiday - you've had our money for those games as we're season ticket holders.

I trust you, in particular, and the board, to do the best you can for the club in the negotiations, and I hope that, before January, we have a new owner and potentially new finance in place, but I shall wait and see and not speculate.

Thank you Rod.

Thanks for the post Rod. I'm sure the majority of people understand how things work, but keeping us informed as far & quickly as possible helps to stop the negativity growing.

Hopefully, we'll have a cracking & successful game on Saturday which will help a great deal!

100%
Lets really get behind the team this Saturday. Who knows where a couple of good results and a couple of favorable cup draws will see us ending up.
Lets try not to get on their backs for every little mistake, because whatever that does, it's not going to make them play better.

Always support the team throughout the games, praise or criticism comes after depending on the outcome. I think it's best to leave the Board to do what they are doing, anything put on here leads to wild speculation and a name linked with a possible takeover results in a total character assassination from some! We only need to know when the deal is done!Rod knows what MFC means to a lot of people and won't let it go to rot. COYS

Nothing against you at all Rod, fantastic, love you to bits for what you do and have done for the Football Club. I have to ask though, three wins since August and a two year extension? How do we attract people back? Yes we have a limited budget, but we need new ideas, a new direction! I'm sorry, but as much as Jim is Morecambe through and through, as well as being a great defender... we are goosed at this rate. Could anyone do, or have done any better with better game plans and tactics or team selection/substitutions? We will now never know. I hate to say it, but it's just the same old, same old - that has just put people off (sorry to say it, but like myself). The Club needs MASSIVE changes to start to attract 'previous' fans (paying customers) back - Not just off the field, but because of 'nothing changing' - there is absolutely nothing to attract me (and many others) back.
All the very best to you - and once again, so very thankful for all you do for Morecambe Football Club.
