great result, they all battled, Kenyon for me Captain every week, a leader very vocal and the closest as we've go to a Jim Bentley on the pitch.

the longer where in this competition the better, this result will now create competition for places, they'll all want a piece, let's just hope for an easy peasy draw forget a big pay day, let's see how far we can get!

Credit where credit's due. Many people had us down to lose this one but for once we were up for it and thoroughly deserved the win. Everybody put a shift in and got their just rewards. Hartlepool were woeful first half and although they came into it a bit more after the break they didn't capitalise on the few chances they had. Pretty comfortable in the end and Fleming deservedly got mom. Roll on round 2.

Played well today , hartlepool didn't offer much of a threat , a lot of possession but lacked a bit up front. Was good to see a bit of urgency today, and we played some nice stuff. Let's hope this is a turning point in the season. Vadaine Oliver was brilliant when he came on.

Technically we were superior and won more to the fact that they couldn't score in a month of Sundays but credit to us for not resorting to their bully boy tactics. Warning there what to expect if we ever got relegated.

Must congratulate their fans for fantastic support even when all was lost after the 3rd goal.

By no means a perfect performance but something now to build on.

Yep fair play to them but I can think of many an away game where we've lost but managed to out sing the home support. It's one of those things in football generally. I suspect had they been at home and lost they wouldn't have shown the same reaction. Good effort nonetheless.

Brought back many happy memories of our fantastic support at the numerous FA Cup games away v York in the 60's.

One of the great F.A.Cup days I recall was the second round in December 2000 when we beat league side Cambridge 2-1.

Gate of 2004 included around 800 from Hartlepool....surprised our home support was that high as I was expecting something cirda 900....pleased therefore.

AFC Fylde only managed just over 1400.

That was better, a great result. Great to see the team play with a more attacking mindset and really get amongst Hartlepool. We never overplayed it, no silly pointless sideways passes and very few hopeless punts up field. It was simple effective football.

Don't think Baz touched the ball until the 11th minute, that must be a record! Nice to see us start in a positive forward way and press. Could really have been 2 up before we scored in the 4th minute. Thought the ref let them get away with a lot of late tackles but it didn't put us off our stride for once.A well deserved victory which hopefully will get us back on track in the League. Now who's the lowest team left in the FA cup draw?

Really happy and pleased for everyone. This is the first time we've gone straight through to the 2nd round of the FA Cup since we moved to the Globe!!
Our last win at the first attempt was against Grimsby in 2008

Thought the ref let them get away with a lot of late tackles but it didn't put us off our stride for once.

The lunging slide tackle from their no. 6 was notable in particular because that's exactly what we've had numerous players sent off for recently. A one footed, hard tackle which takes the ball and the man. As soon as it happened I thought "he'd be off if that was one of our players". Whether that type of tackle warrants a red card isn't the issue - it's the lack of consistency from referees.

Anyway, great to actually win a game and score 3 goals. I liked the way we pressed high and closed them down with plenty of energy. Fair play to Kevin, he affected the game massively by scoring so early on with a calm finish.

Brilliant result all things considered. Well done Jim and the lads. If we make it through to R3 and draw a 'big six' team I may have to raid the piggy bank and book a flight home from Thailand.
