Accrington Morecambe (abandoned) iFollow thread

Ref is a bit of a 'homer', other than the questionable penalty/dive (would love to know what Glen & Freez etc thought about it?) it hasn't mattered too much but could have. A couple of minutes before half time the ball went out of play. Linesman didn't help, just standing with his flag down. Ref didn't know which way to go. As you'd expect from a Coleman side, two of their players ran straight at him and he eventually signalled a corner to Accrington. When we 'questioned it' he tapped his chest, to indicate it came off a Morecambe player.

Perhaps it did, but from the delay & lack of indication from linesman, they obviously didn't know. 80% of the 50:50's have gone to Acci too.

Play like this in the second half and we'll definitely deserve something from the game.

If we're still losing after 80 minutes, we know what Kev needs to do! :D

I feel oddly good about the game being abandoned. Not because we're losing or anything, but because I'm not nearly awake enough.

Happy New Years, folks!

Abandoned...due to pitch flooding.

No doubt they'll claim that Kevin influenced the ref...again

Yep from BBC website

Saturday's League Two game between Accrington and Morecambe was abandoned at half-time because of heavy rain.

They don't even know what day it is

I was thinking that the pitch was becoming unplayable.
I thought we were playing really well, how did we not score?.
If any of you lads see Vinegar Vera, tell her big bad Wayne says hello !!!!.
Dark greasy hair, probably eating chips and smelling of piss and bins ( mind you there's plenty of Accy slappers fitting that description).
In my defence, I was drunk at the time! 8-)

edit: In her defence, so was she.

According to Final Score on BBC "Good news for Morecambe ... the match has been abandoned". "Bad news for Accrington though"
Really? Is it good news for us? Were we that poor that it was game over at half time 1 nil down against Caccy Accy?
Who'd want to smell like you?

Sky sports putting this up as a result. Does this mean that Accy get the 3 points with no chance of a replay ?

Nope, Better side and created four decent chances.
The press lads, even the Accy ones thought it was a foul on Lang!!

Correct decision to abandone it, standing water al over the park.

Correct decision to abandon the game - the ball was sticking on the far side of the pitch and players were sliding all over the place. Ironically the rain died down immediately after it was abandoned but there you go.

We did ok, just not quite alert enough for their goal. We had a few chances and got into their half a fair bit. Not much good quality football but frankly Barcelona wouldn't have looked good in those conditions.

Looked like a foul on Lang and the wrong decision to penalise him for diving. Refs decisions generally went Accys way - as usual. Oliver getting constantly manhandled and thrown to the ground with nothing given and then every time our players make contact with an Accy player, they're getting a foul, making us terrified of challenging them when they went forward. And McConville managed one of his trademark dives where he went down with his hands flailing when there wasn't t a Morecambe player within a yard of him, let alone any contact.

I'm sort of happy about it being called off. We were a goal down and several players (Kev) looked knackered, and I wondered if playing the same side 2 days after Yeovil would cause fatigue. At least we can now draw breath and rest some players.

I think that a game has to complete 60 minutes for the score at that time to stand.
