Sod that!

Last thing we want is for them to have a boost of funds or even just general confidence at the moment! We've won a couple and looked much better but we're still in a relegation scrap. Hope it all works out for them... ...after we are safe!

Although it might now motivate our own Shanghai investors to come out from the shadows with a case load of yuan!

They have been in the shadows for over 3 years, do you think they will make a visit soon?

There's more chance of a tooth fairy or God appearing than a "Shanghai surprise" happening

Their players must have smoked around 20 fags each in the car park prior to kick off

Their forum is quoting a figure of £10 million to be the new asking price reduced from an initial £14 million.

However as a number have pointed out...who in their right mind would pay anything like £10 million if in 4 months time they could find themselves relegated.... :?: :?: :?:

Not sure what our asking price has ever been but if it's circa £4 million as mentioned by the current owners on Radio Lancashire then some could say that we are a bargain.... :?: :?: :?:

For me a couple of million would seem like a fair price considering our current position and future crowd potential.

Since it came up for sale again and was "debt free", I would suggest that losses and loans from Abdul and the Directors have accumulated to getting toward that figure??

A company like ours, apparently losing £500,000+ per year, with very few assets, I’d think £4 would be closer than £4,000,000!

You'd be hard pushed to get even a Chinese Take Away for £4.... ;)

Difference buying Chesterfield than Morecambe, when buying Chesterfield I suspect you get the Ground and Land it's built on, so the sale offers more potential selling the land to pay off debts if they were to go Bankrupt.

When buying Morecambe the Land is protected by a trust. So any buyer is getting very little for the sale price.

Spot on George they get all the ground which makes it a lot more attractive however I would be very worried about them just been after the land.

Probably no need for worry. It may be just a "plan B" in case the plan A goes wrong. A kind of escape route to get back some of their money if it all goes pear-shaped in that they can sell the land. Or another aspect is that they should be able to borrow more on security of the land to use to develop the stadium.

As said above, Morecambe's land is protected by the trust so can't be sold or mortgaged against - possibly why the Diego deal went bad - perhaps he didn't realise he wouldn't be able to borrow money secured on it - don't forget there was a finance broker involved in the deal who was never heard from again. Diego's plans may have relied on being able to secure and borrow money against the land/stadium if he had no money of his own.

Yes it does seem that the lurking sharks didn't realise what they were "buying" in to, when the easiest way is to read a few pages on here.
Very few of these people actually have an interest in the football.
Sad when a Club is basically worth one of Coutinos toenails

Or plan 'A' all along, as has happened to other clubs in the past.
