The car sharing thing, and maybe a minibus/coach transfer could be possible.
What if the ground allocated say 20 car park spots for cars with 4+ passengers.
We have the park and ride car park by Junction 34 now - and also, what about working with L & M College - using their car park off the Torrisholme Road side, and then coaches down to the ground on the 1/4 hour for the period of 1pm - 2.30pm?
A thread on here for lifts offered / requested?

Can they get a 'Globe Arena this way' sign done for the footpath from the station to Acre Moss Lane? After that it's just a simple stroll (if you can do a 20 minute walk) up to Westgate.

Nothing to do with that Ken, just having a go at those who complain the ground is too far to walk. I probably shouldn't have used the 'true supporter' tag on that, it just annoys me. I fully accept I'm a recent comer, relatively speaking, as a Morecambe fan, and I dare say I don't spend as much as many other regular attendees, nor do I go to away matches. I just pay for my season ticket each year and try to attend sufficient games to make it pay.

just reading this topic with interest.The car sharing idea could work. How many of you have been to the shrimps trust info point at JB'S bar or the info point outside the first choice suite, they have been there all season two hours before a game and at least an hour after a game were there is an ideas/suggestion box (we even supply slips and pens).Anyone who travels in car to the game and is willing to car share could leave details of where they are travelling from and how many seats are available and contact details, and anyone who knows someone who would like to attend games could put their details down and we could try and get A and B together. If we got full cars coming regular from different points, then we could approach the club about allowing said cars parking spaces.
has a trustee I would like more input from fans about all aspect and ideas about the club and trust, also help if needed by the fans to get ideas off the ground.

It has been mentioned before and is totally beyond our means but it is so cruel having a railway track just behind the ground. Having some sort of platform there would open the ground up to so many people. Maybe EDF could build one for us and our fans could jump on the Nuke Express?

Not sure if you can pay for individual games, or you'd need to buy a bundle? Lets see what impact it has on their home gates. Interestingly the cheap games are against sides that probably won't bring many away fans (FGR, Cambridge and Yeovil) - perhaps that's a factor given a large proportion of their home support are probably season ticket holders..... but it might just be pure coincidence.

There are loads of things that could be done - create local branches, get a CRM system, do more with the parking, discounted games, more entertainment, advertise using Facebook, run a minibus from hubs at pubs, etc. etc.

However, do all this needs leadership and off the pitch we are completely rudderless. It’s like the Marie Celeste. So bits will happen because something has to be done but it won’t be planned or sustained because there is no one in charge.

What if (and this is fairly radical) we actually played entertaining football that doesn't hurt the visiting centre-halfs and local supporters necks?? If we attacked a bit more and started winning games we would get some supporters back. More supporters = more £££££ in the kitty. Transport for Morecambe based supporters is there, walking distance from many areas even getting off a bus is a mile and a half perhaps, from the shrimp and Westminster road. We let supporters in for free once and they flocked to watch, next game they had to pay the went missing again! Good football and good results at home is part of the answer. COYS

Feel the comments earlier about calling fans moaners and lazy about the walking distance due to poor bus service was bit harsh.
if you look around you will see a lot of fans who bring small children with them, myself being one of them. If I was to come on the bus from Lancaster I would have to change buses twice where as at Christie Park years ago only once. This also allowed me to have a couple of pints whilst at the football.
I now come in the car unless in summer as if my little lad got soaked walking from shrimp roundabout he would be stood in the freezing cold soaked.
Maybe the trust could approach stagecoach to improve services or introduce a supporters bus and trial it as I know a few from Lancaster who are fans and do same as me, could this not be part of a sponsorship with stagecoach given the size of the company.
I'm not quite sure but isn't the hourly service outside the ground very close to final whistle.
Also when we were at Christie Park the bus service was very frequent and went past various parts of Lancaster from there, if I remember right it was always busy after full time.
I would like nothing better than to make an afternoon of it on match days but whilst I have a little one will be good weather only

This was looked at as part of the Transport Plan when the ground opened. It was decided that there was no viability unless a regular service runs to Heysham, and there isn't much chance of that happening unless there is major investment in infrastructure and rolling stock. One can dream though...
