Well, that was an experience. Moaning Mansfield didn't deserve that one, Ref's a twit.

Off to run my errands, cheers folks!

In all honesty, I think Mansfield DID deserve both of their goals. They dominated possession in that second half and out played us for modt of that half, although i agree that it was seriously unfortunate as we did have our chances. But taking off Lang (our most promising attacker) and Kenyon (our main defensive mid when moving to a 4 atb...) was ludicrous. Vadaine and Kev looked lost and pretty much useless for most of the game yet stayed on the full 90. I can safely say that quite a few more people were quite annoyed at Jim to say the least.....

Why take Lang off our best goal threat and replace him with Wildig then near the end replace Kenyon with Thommo and weaken the defence.

Exactly! Wildig who has shown almost nothing this season compared to McGurk or Campbell who always make a bigger impact on the game. Going for the win was an awful idea, leaving our defence exposed, basically throwing the game down the drain

Isn't Lang coming back from an injury? Might that have been the reason?

Manager stupid idea of replacing a striker with a midfielder and not like for like was responsible for our defeat which reduced our threat to nearly zero. Ref had some issues with Oliver because every time he challenged for the ball he blew up for a foul Hate to say it but we deserved nothing on our second half performance. How is it we play on the deck away without the big man up top but when at home it's hood ball always to Oliver who was penalised throughout the game for sod all Manager has to accept that he cocked up and lost us the game.

Jim hasn't learnt anything from the Stevanage game. Same negative set up and hoof ball tactics. Old going off forced him in to an attackingish sub with Flemmo coming on. Goal came from an error rather than an inspired bit of play.

We came out and sat back, the Lang substitution was crazy. He can't of been tired due to the fact we never used him, he had just got there defensive mid booked and is the only goal threat we have. I hope Jim is quizzed on it and he doesn't spout his sport science guff.

Mansfield were poor but organised. Probably the worst defence I have seen this season. We should have gone at that them. Jim let them off the hook.

I applauded the players off at the end due to the effort they put in. For me, they were let down by Jim and his poor management today.

We were outplayed for most of the second half but the subs were to try and win it, and it very nearly worked.
Scabby goal for their second, and a foul on Vadaine leading to their first but hey ho.
Six points dropped to Mansfield who in both games have a had a huge slice of luck.

At what point did it nearly work? Wildig contributed? Thommo did what? Our 2 major goal threats were on the bench, one had been hooked and the other under a blanket. Out played and out thought.

What rubbish. Jim cost us the points today.

Yes, he did. No one else to blame but him this time. Taking Lang off to replace with an out of form Wildig was crazy. And how on Earth did Oliver stay on for the full 90?

How big are our next 3 games? Port Vale, FGR and Chesterfield. One could pull away from us and two are hot on our tails with pockets full of money.

Or

We can catch one above us and pull away from two beneath us.

I wonder how Jim will approach these games? Blood and thunder or sport science and over thinking.

Be a good time to try and get some fans through the gates like RRW showed with that Accrington offer.

Deluded... we had our slice of luck when their defender messed the back pass up! Nothing other than Jim can be blamed and you cant get away from that fact.

Harsh to blame Oliver. He contributed no less than anyone else, and he was totally taken out of the game by the referee. Pushed, shoved, held back, manhandled and shirt pulled by the Mansfield defence all game long and then penalised for if he dared try to make a challenge himself.

And no consistency. That incident early on when their attacker wrestled Sam Lavelle to the ground and the ref penalised Lavelle was incredible. Imagine if Vadaine had done that.

Kevin was far less effective than Oliver, and had another game where he contributed nothing. But he's undroppable because he's our top goal scorer...

Despite the off field problems and the lack of finances I would suggest that if and when a managerial position comes up for grabs at our club, there would be a lot of applications from current non league managers; out of work managers and retired ex players wanting to have a crack at managing an EFL club.

Why?

In my opinion they would look at the way that we operate in being loyal to its management team and also would feel that they could do as good if not better job than the current managerial team because they would have different styles pf play that should (hopefully) provided entertainment which could increase the gates that are continuing to fall due to terrible home performances.

Purely hypothetical because Jim and Co are under no pressure I suggest from those in power.

That's my opinion, and I formed that from what I see take place on the pitch.

In both games.

Point was about right yesterday.
Spoke to a handful of Mansfield lads after the game who admitted they were lucky to a) win with a pea roller of a goal, and b) take six points off us.

But I'm deluded!!

We played the 3 earlier in the season in a row if I remember correctly. We lost 2 out of the 3 of them. If we do that again, I dread to think what is going to happen going in to the last few games against Carlisle & Barnet.
