The Plymouth Fans Forum suggest that he's an out and out winger...but Jim says he can play in a number of positions which should see him OUT of position like a few other current and former Shrimps...

Time will tell however and will be interesting to see where he plays.

Confess I was slightly concerned when I read that, especially since we don't tend to play with wingers.

My friend who's a big rangers fan told me he was a good player for them and very quick, he came through academy at Rangers

Let's hope he does well for us

Offered (which was accepted) to cancel his contract without seeking compensation with Rangers in 2012 when the club was in dire financial problems in order that those players and staff with families wouldn't be out of work.

Pymouth fans say he's not been up to lge1,but if he can regain his form that he had at Rangers, then we have got a good player.

Will be interesting to see how he fits into the line up. It seems he likes functioning as an out and out winger but obviously that style isn't popular anymore, also I don't think we have strong enough CMs to hack playing 4-4-2. He might work well in a 4-3-3 on on the left up front. Maybe with Lang and McGurk occupying the other two forward spots? With three up front they don't need to be both central/wide players on the outside. You could have Wylde hanging out wide on the left more and Lang on the right moving in more centrally. I reckon a 3 man midfield of Kenyon holding then Rose and Fleming in front would be good. We would obviously lose our back 3 though, although Kenyon could spend most of the game dropping back there? I often prefer him in the back 3 anyway. We'll have to wait and see.

Copy from 2 posts on Plymouth fans site -

'I know he's getting on a bit now but Wylde will do well to be selected ahead of a fully fit Kevin Ellison.

One of my favourite opposition players of recent years. Always plays with a smile on his face, banters with the opposition fans, and has hurt us on the pitch on several occasions with speed of thought and deed.'

'Morecambe are a good club but Wylde's career is going backwards.
He's limited because he can only play in one position and genuine wingers are not getting selected into teams because managers prefer to convert strikers into wide players who play in a front three.'

First one by a Kev fan :D and second referring to the demise of out and out wingers......we shall see whether Jim tries to play him elsewhere. He may release McGurk to play in the main strikers role up front with Callum

P.S. Little Shrimp beat me to the last line idea

Quite possible that we beat off both Carlisle and Dunfermline for his signature.

A Carlisle fan reckons he ripped them apart last season and can't believe we've got him.

I like it.....

Hope the Dude is a winger and played as a winger, it's a decent winger Olivier is crying out for, Olivier just need the right service and deliveries into the box so he can use his strength and height.

Could be the difference with Non League and FL football next season.

Yes would be nice to see Oliver ready and waiting in the box from a cross with a chance of actually heading it towards the net, rather than 40 yards out with his back to goal. Just saying like

Good to see us sign a pacy player with L2 experience.

Interesting to see where he fits in though. Jim has said he wanted to sign a first XI player, not a backup. As such it would suggest he'll start, and therefore that we're going to play 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 as he doesn't fit into the current system (unless we're going to play him as a WB  )

Whilst delighted we've got someone with League 2 experience I'm surprised that Jim has brought in a winger when we've already got Thommo who although he hasn't set the place on fire that is due in my opinion to the system we play where out and out wingers are not preferred.

I suspect that the new lad will be played out of position as others and that Oliver will continue to be starved of supply. Maybe the new lad is seen by the management as a wing back.....
