The TV then proceeded to show the "roadies" shovelling tarmac into holes full of rain water!! Of course the dumb reporter didn't ask the obvious! The mind boggles!

By the way, coming back from Luton last week I noticed some serious potholes on the M6 around Wigan. Amazed that there hasn't been a major accident as hitting one of them at 70 mph could be catastrophic.
didn't someone once say (sing) there are a thousand holes in Blackburn Lancashire? :D did they ever get filled in??

I suspect quite a lot of racing cyclists have come a cropper in particular those chain gangers who have to do their training on unlit roads at night.

They repaired the potholes at the top of Sugham Lane last year. Didn't last long and they're just as bad as ever now.

Christies Child wrote:This lunchtimes BBC News highlighted the on going and increasing problem of road potholes, something that all drivers will be familiar with.

Maybe they should have reported on the absolute shambles of a road that drivers have to negotiate in Carnforth and more recently the A6 connection to the M6 at Junction 35.

The Carnforth shambles has been like that for well over 12 months if not longer whilst the M6 connection is getting worse on a daily basis.

Wonder how long it will be before a few motorists have major suspension problems and possible accidents at both locations.

Not sure if it's a County Council issue or the local Council to fix but whoever it is need to get their acts into gear and get the problems sorted.

Haha well spotted! I did indeed. Not intentionally.

The funding for this work is calculated by county hall, they the add this figure into the total budget and hand this to westminster. The government hand county hall a lump sum of cash to do all the work. County hall then squabble over how much cash to spend on what.

I expect some suspensions to collapse in the near future as the A6 through Carnforth is now very dangerous with new areas of exposed road surface appearing almost by the day.

And still no word as to when the road will be resurfaced, it's as if the County have forgotten North of the county.
