Havn't heard one of these for a while so just wanted to say that tonight has made it clear that Abdul or G50 or whoever is pulling any strings that we have left is relying on what we have got and not giving us a boost.
Who knows what they want? Stay up or happy to go down and suffer the consequences. Doomed if we are up or down we have to to wait and see.
At least FGR lost tonight, always hope, massive month ahead.

All I know is I will continue to follow my team.

It's a bit harsh to criticise those keeping the club afloat. Due to the losses, they're already putting in probably half a million per year and getting nothing back out of it. Given the fiasco of PMG's sale to Diego, we should count ourselves lucky that Abdul is keeping to his promises and hasn't walked away resulting in certain bankruptcy. Jim has a player budget and it's up to him to use it as he sees fit, i.e. choose fewer better players or more cheaper players.

Not a critisism, Ken, just an observation really. IMO our manager did appear to put a better squad together, albeit a bit later than usual. The other teams around us obviously have more ability to step up in the January window.
We won't know until it happens if it is better in the long run to stay up or go down, I would imagine if we had a vote on it, it would be similar to BREXIT.
The Abdul situation continues to amaze me, how many months left?

It might be a naive question but does someone stand to gain more money if we are relegated than if we survived as a league club? Do teams relegated from the Football League receive money? How much?

League 2 clubs get about £1 million in payments for being in League 2.
First parachute payment is half that.
Second year is a quarter of that.

That’s why York went straight down again, why Hartlepool are close to bankruptcy, why Stockport crashed and never came back.

I suspect most of these payments do not go on the team but on paying off debts....as ours most certainly would.

Which is why I think it is such a fantastic success that Jim keeps us in League Two season after season, with almost zero resources. If/when he fails in the miracle and we go down, goodness knows where we will end up. Just got to hope that eventually someone comes in who actually has money AND wants the club.

Trouble is that the only prospective buyers we've heard about want the directors' loans written off (i.e. they'll buy the club and invest in the future, but they won't pay off the debts due to past losses), so there's no incentive for the past/current directors to write off their debts and sell the club if they know they'll get their debts paid if the club gets relegated. They can just sit pretty waiting for either relegation or in the hope of a sugar daddy - either way, they get their money. Basically, you could say that owners/directors have been lending the club money to keep it afloat based on security of knowing the relegation parachute payment will repay them.

Ken H , your speculation as to what may happen is a bit unfair here, you aren't actually naming anyone that you think will profit from the club's relegation , why's that then?
