The postponement came through on BBC Sport App update (push notification) at about 1000.
I'm surprised people didn't check as I thought postponement likely from first thing.

As much as it would be nice if media outlets let us know of these things, he's got to accept personal responsibility for not checking himself before making the journey. Media air time is limited and they will inevitably have to make a decision as to what to broadcast so we can't be too sour about it. Human instinct is always to justify our own actions and look for someone else to blame...

Before the internet 'older' fans will have had several wasted journeys to Horwich when we were in a 'tinpot' league as far as the media was concerned.
I remember a trip to Leek for a night match -I think we were the only ones who didn't know it was off-
into pub by ground for a bite to eat then back home.
Communication was difficult in those days, so more wasted journeys. (Ok so then the war came, the King was executed and Cromwell banned Christmas )
