Accrington Re-arranged Game

Accrington Re-arranged Game

Postby Ntini » Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:56 pm

I know this was met with some disgruntled replies on Twitter, but I'm not sure Accy have followed EFL protocol on tickets for the re-arranged game.

EFL regulations wrote:28.4 Every Club must have a publicly stated policy regarding ticket refunds or other arrangements for abandoned Matches.
https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/ef ... -fixtures/

I've searched everywhere and I can't find anything from Accy to say about what happens if a match is abandoned (to be fair, I can't find one for us either). There was an announcement over the PA at the game for people to keep hold of their ticket stubs, suggesting a refund or free entry for the re-arranged fixture. Later that day an announcement on twitter of ticket prices for the re-arranged game. Therefore, no mention of refund details or other arrangements for ticket holders of the abandoned match.

Went to just 1st game: 45mins for £20 - no result (£0.44/min)
Goes to both games: 135mins for £30 - sees a result (£0.22/min)
Goes to just 2nd game: 90mins for £10 - sees a result (£0.11/min)

That seems grossly unfair on someone who was able to go to the original fixture but not able to go to the re-arranged game.

:o

If a game is abandoned or postponed prior to kick-off, anyone who has purchased a match ticket can receive a full refund or use the match ticket at the re-arranged fixture. If a game is abandoned during the first half, anyone who has purchased a match ticket will be offered admission to the ground for 50% of the price they paid to attend the original game for the re-arranged date and will be given a voucher. No refund will be given if the game is abandoned after the 2nd half has commenced. Any refunds in connection with this policy are to be obtained from the original point of purchase.

My apologies to Accrington, clearly I didn't dig deep enough!

Doesn't specify that there is a refund for those not able to attend the re-arranged game.

So everyone attending the re-arranged game gets the same benefit as those who didn't, whilst those not able to attend get nothing

I think some folk on here are misunderstanding the Stanley ticket policy. It clearly states that to obtain half price admission for the rearranged game you had to be at the original game and you now need to produce a 'voucher' to prove it. However I was at that game and at no time were vouchers offered and the ticket office was closed when we left at half time. There was an announcement over the tannoy that folk should keep their ticket stubs and that is what I did. I am now assuming that for voucher, substitute ticket stub. I would not be surprised if they now try and charge you full price if you can't produce said ticket stub. It would be nice if someone could clarify this. I've kept our ticket stubs but if I hadn't I would have dug my heels in and complained that at no time were 'vouchers' issued and most folk dispose of ticket stubs after entry has been gained. So when is a ticket stub a voucher? Confusing. Accrington Stanley always tinpot!

Is that right Marky? I have saved the ticket stub but put it somewhere so safe, it's whereabouts has eluded me so far. Can I relax?

There's also nothing in the post on the Morecambe site saying that a voucher/ticket stub is required. It's just a flat fee for everyone irrespective of your attendance at the original fixture.

Does anyone know if there's a pitch inspection scheduled?
