Thought we did ok in first half, forgetting all the falling over in front of us they did. To be fair to them they got their just rewards in the 45+ minute. We never recovered, can't remember seeing much more than 5 minutes of the ball in their box 2nd half.
It's winning mentality v nochance for me... shame is we have the ability COYS

Agree, I thought there was a defeatist attitude on and off the pitch tonight. Once we conceded, there was no way back - we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored.

One nil down at half time you would expect a response but apart from a couple of corners in a ninety second spell absolutely nothing very disappointing.

I actually thought it was a good performance from a good team in a good formation. First half hour Accy were bright and attacked us intently using width and pace, but we defended resolutely and everyone put a shift in. After that they didn't look like they had a plan B and I think that's credit to the way we defended as a team.

I do think Winnard pulled Jackson back and it was a foul; unfortunately, so was the pull from Jackson on Winnard a second earlier. If it was a penalty, then it was a free kick to us first.

Second half I thought we came out and attacked better. Every time we broke forward though we were chopped down by Accy players who were smart - some got yellows and some got away with it. That really stifled our attempts to get a goal back.

On another day against another team we'd have beaten them easily with that performance. Onwards and upwards!

I know we complain about the lack of interest throughout the town in our club and the crap gates we get at home, but last nights gate at Stanley of 1799 should ring alarm bells at Accrington when you consider that they are second in the league and are unless a dramatic fall in performances destined for promotion to league 1.

If and when we are in a similar position I'd suggest that our gate for a local derby would be well over the 2000 mark. :)

Not sure how many of our lot went last night but if it was circa 250 then the home figure would be 1549 which should send alarm bells in the Accy hierarchy. :o

Just watched the highlights and have to say that it looked to me as though we gave a good account of ourselves and had the lions share of the play with Accy not looking like promotion favourites by a long way.

I think we did alright last night, battled as well as we've ever battled at The Wham, but apart from Old's chance, we never looked like scoring.

If we fight like that in the big games against Chesterfield and Barnet, we'll be ok.They are probably more likely to crumble under the amount of pressure we did put Accy under in certain parts of the game.

The linesman getting injured just totally killed the game and our best spell of momentum. Accy just then managed the match and their lead till the end as they always do. They're probably the best team in the division at killing games in those situations, just totally taking the sting out of it.

In regards to the penalty, it was a penalty. You can't put your arms on somebody like Winnard did, simple as that. As soon as he felt something Jackson was always going to go down and the ref was always going to give it.

Big shout out to Baz who I thought was superb, as he has been for most of the season.

It's odd how some people on here would rather blame the officials than our players or management for the defeat. The referee made the correct decision with the penalty. It looked like Winnard put his arms around their player to bring him down and the SSN footage proves this to be the case. We didn't offer anything going forward and we got what we deserved.

Baz could be a good shout for player of the season. Unless someone sticks a few goals in for us then he has got my vote.

You don't think Jackson had arms on Winnard as well? I'll need to see it again, but to me it looked 50:50.

From our position Jackson pulled Winnard back then got ahead of him and Winnard pulled him back, so give the first one, surely.
Keep the faith.
