Crowd tonight must be 820, whether they will announce it as that I am not sure. Certainly the lowest crows while the clubs been in the football league. Colchester have brought about 50.

I appreciate there's cause for a lesser crowd mid-week, but when you're averaging 1000-ish, that's really noticeable. :|

Not really. 0-0. A game of few chances, very low turnout and a flat 'pre-season like' atmosphere.

Something needs to be addressed! Whatever the reasons for the low turn out the club will be heavily criticise for this!

Useful point. A couple of wins should see us safe now.

Still not managed to string two consecutive wins together yet this season but every point is vital

I'm sure there's a few no-shows who could easily be criticised too. After a home win, what more can the club do?

An interesting table here showing average attendances in relation to population of towns. We are 11th in this table :-

average game with a poor Ref. How their big Donkey of a striker got away with the elbow smash on Conlon is beyond me. A decent battle, not much quality from either side and 2 strange substitutions. The crowd is a worry but I think it is the same for most clubs these days. It just costs too much, simple as that.

Yeah, good point, was in Milan last weekend, so sqeezed in AC Milan, Italian football like German football it's cheaper than ours, it's for the working man, and brings communities together.

Also I like how Families go into Family areas,(common sense) unlike some of ours in the past going into the Home end behind the Goal then complain about bad behaviour and swearing when Lads our trying to create an atmosphere.

Wise up, and use a Football ground properly.

One win doesn't cancel out all the awful matches and poor experiences over several years which drove fans away. We barely ever have two good performances back to back so no one would expect a good performance yesterday after Saturday's win. Also, 3 home games in 8 days simply isn't affordable for many. Not forgetting a cold, dark Tuesday evening on a school night will never bring in the younger families. It'll take years to build up the attendances again, and only if the "experience" is better and more affordable. You can't undo several years dwindling crowds so quickly.

Funny how people see games differently. I know last night wasn't the greatest performance, but often on a cold Tuesday night I find myself worrying about freezing fingers and toes (Reynaud's Disease) and not finding the football holding my attention; the evening's drag on. Last night the first half in particular flew by. Most of the lads put in a good shift, and can I give some credit to Jim: he's playing with wingers and 2 strikers, which so many have been asking for for so long. It may not always work, but hey-ho. I thought the back 4 all played well, even Winnard, who I don't normally rate, and but for the rashness that got him the yellow card AJ was probably man-of-the-match. Alex, again apart from the missed challenge that would have been a straight red if he'd connected, and again too many missed passes, had a reasonable game. Up front I wish Wylde, supposedly a winger, would spend less time coming inside, and Lang is too lightweight against a physical side, and sometimes seems to give up on 50/50 balls because he's scared of the opposition players. Thommo had a better game than Saturday, and nearly got us a goal in the first half. I actually thought the ref wasn't that bad, getting the big decisions right, but could have been harder on some of their rough-housing. All in all, a point was a fair result, and I left not feeling too bad.

Apologies to some for the positivity. ;)

Colchester United haven't won an away game North of Watford since April 2016..... :o

I have to agree with Phil on the positivity. I just think we look more solid as a unit and clearly started the game with more confidence. I was really chuffed to see Jim stick with the same team, especially Lang & McGurk up front. I hope they can have a run in the team together so that they can start to build a decent end-of-season partnership as a front two.

Unfortunately I don't think the subs worked last night and it killed off the game just as we were stepping up a gear. I was also really frustrated that, in the last 20 mins, every time we got into a decent position going forwards someone would have a ridiculous pop at goal from 40 yards, not one of them being on target. Obviously Wylde and Campbell thought they could match Rose's long-range effort at the weekend, to the detriment of all those busting a gut on the overlap!

Overall a well-earned point and, largely we again put in a good performance. Only 1 loss in 7 - onwards and upwards!

I asked about this but apparently the EFL only allow each club a certain number of promotions during a season and we've used our allowance up, otherwise there probably would have been such an offer.

This is the sort of information the club should advertise on the MFC website rather than fans having to ask the question to find out
