Stevenage teenage centre half

Postby Christies Child » Wed Apr 11, 2018 7:22 pm

Numerous sports media are claiming that Watford have agreed a deal worth £1.5 million to sign Stevenage teenage centre half.

Just think what Jim could do with a player budget of that amount.

If we'd a player like that we'd probably only have him tied down on a 1yr deal and then get peanuts for him.

Closest we've got is Sam Lavelle who in todays inflamed market and with his age a significant factor could be worth circa £500,000.....if not more.

Hopefully get him signed up on a 2 if not 3 year deal and give him extensive first team experience and his value could rocket.

However being a Northern based player, fess are never as high as in the South for such talented youngsters. :(

Damned if you do, damned if you don't on this one.

How often have we been lumbered with a player on a 2 year contract when we'd ideally have wanted to get rid of him after 1 year? Adam Campbell will probably fall into this bracket this Summer.

Also Vadine Oliver on a 2 year deal I suspect, although it wasn't confirmed at the time of him signing.

As much as I like Vadine, I think he could be a bit more aggressive and improve his placement of headers won. Tuesday night he had 2 glorious chances to win the game for us but his inability to direct his headers was for all to see.

I recall the big guy from Mansfield who directed all his headers to a colleague, something that Vadine should be able to do.

I'd say Ben's age is a significant factor. How old must he be now? About 50.......??

If Ben is worth £500k, what must his son, Sam, be worth ??

I think you'll find that if we got 1.5million that would leave the accounts at roughly 0pounds and 0pence, so at least it would be better prospect to purchase........

Only for a short while the accounts would appear debt free..

Another 12 months on and the accounts will be down £500,000+ down again, with not being self sufficant, and i should imagine going by every season since the move another 100+ fans will vanish this summer. too.

Or George, alternatively, a new owner may pay half our debt off, use the balance to give the management a decent playing budget, and coupled with a decent cup run, oversee a profitable season, attracting a further investment from stadium sponsors buoyed by our success........

Yeah could do, or at least a budget to match Accrington Stanley, then yeah anything is possible.

The Radio was on about em, think they said they can go up today, they set a good example to clubs like us.
