Still an ongoing problem, I undeserstand money is tight, however Fans two or three seasons ago proposed to fund some sort of roofing for it to be knocked back for CCTV reasons.

I also believe the recently(start of this season) Shrimps Trust brought it up again and things looked promising in addressing paying customers match day experience.

Going by every season since the move we seem to be losing on average of 100+ fans per season, surly it would make sense to make this a priority?

just some basic no frills cladding a bit like old Morecambe Market, it's realistically affordable if fans chip in?

Wasn't there a promise last summer to build something in time for the new season, only for it never to materialise?

Yes , I suspect the directors have been busy finding cash for the wages so this is likely to remain on the back burner until or if a new investor/owner arrives.

I'm not name dropping, it's breaking confidence.

But I can't understand why when fans are willing to fund this or raise funds the club are putting obstacles in the way.

1) CCTV
2) it's ok, where on to it, it's getting sorted.

Basically the Club is Looking a Gift Horse in the Mouth, they don't have to pay a penny, let's make it happen!

I thought Mr T mentioned this in another thread last week. Starting that is taking longer than anticipated but plans are in the pipeline!

Been going on too long. At the very least lets have a whip round for a decent gazebo, while the board work on their plans. Its cost enough fans already.

Didn't I have the misfortune to read something about this situation on Facebook over the weekend?

Rod Taylor gave the answers as to what the current state of play is.

Great idea, then we will lose even more fans due to false promises and uttlerly shambolic communication. When is this board going to learn.

So you'd rather wages went unpaid to our players - we are a football club after all - so we could break the bank/find some none existent money to erect a cover which isn't top of the priorities list right now in the grand scheme of things??

What's more important....a cover at the rear of The Omega OR funding the club to guarantee we have a team to support..... :?: :?: :?:

Great idea if the Trust can fund the project BUT I suspect the cost may be out of their reach...hence why finance from the Board is so critical, but at the moment the club's survival is of greater importance surely... :?: :?: :?:

I suspect that there is only a certain amount of cash that the collective Board can afford, so a combine Trust and Board working in harmony to get the finances seems to be the only option unless finance from outside the club can be found.

Why don’t you ask the fans who don’t come any more what’s more important? My attendance over the last 5 years has decline simply because the value for money is pants and there has been little attempt to reconnect with the fans. We are no longer a family club. We are simply a badly ran business. Sad times. II would take the north stand and conference football over what we have everyday.

You carry on pretending everything is ok though.

As for getting the trust to pay for everything. I wouldn’t pay for a bus pass then pay extra to get the bus. Why do we seem to think it’s ok to do that for a football club.

Maybe the club should reveal the plans/drawings to fans, then the Trust could start raising funds.

Sure I heard off a little dicky bird a figure of £30.000 ish, sounds about right for some steel girders and cladding, oh and CCTV camera to keep people happy.

Any chance you could point to the post where CC (or anyone, for that matter) says everything's OK? I don't think anyone thinks that, but I find it bizarre that anyone could think providing cover behind the home end (which I'm not dismissing, BTW, I think it should have been there from the off) is more important than ensuring people get paid at the end of the month.

He didn’t. I will retract it. Let’s back on topic. What’s happening with the promised works?

It's not often that I take exception to a post about me, but Heysham red is so off the mark when he claims that I pretend that everything is OK when it clearly is not BUT I try to remain positive and trust that things will work out fine for our club sooner rather than later.

There are too many gloom merchants posting on SVs including a few who for whatever reason like to stick the boot in which at times reads like they have personal vendettas towards certain Board members.

I'm critical of Jim and his style pf play but respect him for his loyalty and commitment to our great club and would never sink to the depths of wishing him anything other than the best at all times. Maybe those who have little respect for those charged with continuing to finance our club should show a bit of gratitude ...after all without the continued financing of our club by a select few, there would be no MFC operating in the EFL.

Rant over....

Now you’re off your high horse. You should read your own post and realise how much of a hypocrite you are. “I ddon’t like people saying I’m this and that” and then suggesting things I never actually said!

Why is it ok for you to have a go at Jim and not me to have a go at the board? Am i not allowed an opinion? Do me a favour and grow up. This isn’t about you! Every topic you seem to what to make about you. It’s boring.

This is about a cover over a stand we were promised. Can you provide an update on that?

1) There is no money

2) The future of the club is uncertain

3) The club is for sale

4) Other priorities are more pressing.

5) We are operating on by far the smallest budget in the EFL.

Anything else ??

Thanks for this. Which one of theses was not the case when promised work was made?

I have to defend Heysham_red here.

Yes, we all understand and know the reasons why things won't / can't be done.

However, it was stated 12 months ago that work would start which everyone was pleased about. Then we've heard nothing since.

If you're going to announce that work will be starting on a cover and then it doesn't without an explanation you can't blame people for asking what's going on and citing this as an example of the poor communication from the club.

If ground is protected by the trust, it's not dead money being spent surly?

Oh and number 5) Accrington Stanley have been said to still have the smallest budget in the EFL, today on the radio.

Not true George, Andy Holt the owner admitted today the original budget put forward in June was 600k, had risen to 900k and is well over a million as it stands.
So nearly twice ours!!
