Accrington Stanley owner Andy Holt says he "reserves the right" to buy his players a burger following victories after the English Football League questioned the arrangement.

Holt said he gives the team £200 to get "McDonald's or the like" if they win - otherwise they pay for their own meal.

Posh, I post on behalf of, and to defend most of my colleagues on the BOD here. Your comment about hanging around for a payout is rude, misinformed and bang out of order! How do you think wages have been paid on some occasions over the past year? Do you have any idea of the amount of time and money some of us support the football club with? Without the input and support of these individuals through the difficult times we have encountered over the past couple of years we would not have a club now. Don't have a go at the majority of the BOD for historic cock-ups. I usually refrain from commenting on here or on social media but some people obviously need a reality check. As I have said before, if you or anyone else wishes to talk about any aspect of MFC, I will be only too happy to oblige (save for confidential matters) and then perhaps you would have a more informed view rather than posting the vitriolic bile you have posted on here today. Rest assured that the majority of fans of our club respect and appreciate what you and Board members past and present do and have done in years past to ensure that our club survives.

Unfortunately a very small minority have their own agendas which does them little if any credit whatsoever.

Rod. Seriously, everyone is grateful to you Mike and others who’ve put their hand in their pocket to pay the wages. You mention historic cockups and that’s exactly where the finger is pointed that has led us to where we are. You know what is going on in the boardroom but no one else does. You say you and others have put your hands in your pockets to pay wages some times. Why? Why, when Abdulrahmen gave assurances to the Football League he would fund the club for two years? Why has the proxy owner of the club allowed that to happen?

If anything my comments are supportive of people on the board who genuinely love this club like you.

Really. Like what exactly?

Bile tends to rise from deep frustration. Over many years I’ve done loads to support the club with ideas and, while nothing on the scale of others, a large amount of money through different means. I’ve also been passionate and hugely positive about the club everywhere I go. It is a huge love in my life, bigger than you ever know.

The happiest days I’ve ever had as a Shrimp were on the terraces at Christie Park and I really believed PMG when he said the move to the Globe would protect our future. Instead I’ve seen my club go through the agony and humiliation that we’ve suffered year after year off the field. It is like watching a dying relative knowing that more can be done but seeing nothing happen.

On the field Jim has done a super human effort to keep us in the Football League and I have such huge admiration for him. Off the field, I have huge gratitude to and sympathy with Rod for doing his utmost to keep the ship afloat and also for the likes of Graham Hodgson, Nigel Adams, Mark Hallam and others who’ve invested huge sums, to save something they love greatly, only to feel the need to walk away.

I am seriously concerned that again we’re back in intensive care and someone may pull the plug. Given that don’t be surprised if people do get upset because you can do nothing when they’re gone.

I didn’t notice until you quoted me that I hadn’t mentioned yourself, despite it being pretty obvious that I would mean you too. I know what it means to you personally and I know you’ve hung in there when it has become too much for others. I am still amazed you have. I can imagine it would be easier to walk away for the sake of your sanity, wallet and health, however I’m glad you have. I just hope it’s worth it, especially when large parts of the solution are out of your hands.

The vast majority of us are fighting on the same side, you and I included, for something which is a huge part not of our Saturdays but of our lives, our friends and our town. We’re bound to get passionate and I apologise if I’ve made you misinterpret that and got you angry.

In my view saving the club won’t happen in the boardroom but like at many other clubs, whether a sugar daddy, fan owned or just surviving, it will happen by the whole community getting together to fight and save it. If we can keep them informed and harness their energy then maybe it can done but that goodwill needs to be rediscovered. If you’re leading that then all the better but I don’t want this again (see photo below) especially permanently.

Agree with your point Mark but no one had a problem with putting Diego and Joseph Cala's dirty washing all over the internet, myself included. Why? Because it served a purpose. Everyone knew what Cala was about and everyone wanted to share a story of where he slept, his visit to the local bank or whatever.

The fundamental problem is our ownership situation, which I firmly believe is killing our club. I've enormous respect for those, like Rod, trying to run the club with one, if not two, hands tied behind their backs and trying to balance the agendas of various parties.

Perhaps I was wrong to bring this up publicly. Perhaps I should just turn up for every game pay my £17 and hope all this gets resolved. Sadly, so many, even at board level, have become frustrated though by the spiral of decline off the pitch (and what enables us to afford on the pitch) that they don't come any more.

I stand by what I've said and the points I've made. If anything Rod has given additional detail on the situation at the club, which many would never have known and the challenges he and others are dealing with.

However, time to take the washing in. It was never going to dry in the storm surrounding the club over the last few years.
