How big a game is it on Tuesday?

Barnet play the team bottom & third from bottom in their final two matches. I can see them winning both.

I don't see us going to Coventry and getting anything.

A point isn't enough on Tuesday. Anything other than a win puts survival in doubt.

I REALLY hope the town turns out to get behind us AND we really go for a win on Tuesday. Go out with a bang, not a whimper. Looking at us today, we could still be playing on Monday without getting a goal. And if Oliver is the answer, it's a bloody stupid question. Has he had a shot or header on target since Christmas?

Somebody needs to tell our manager that a draw will not be enough,we have had chances to win games at home lately but have decided that draws will do.even throwing 2-0 leads away against chesterfield the worst team in the league!

We must set up the side to win on Tuesday as I have no confidence we will beat Barnet on Saturday. 9 wins so far this season (including 2 against Wycombe) doesn't fill me with confidence that we'll get the required win. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if we draw against Cambridge on Tuesday, lose a tense game against a fired up Barnet side on Saturday who'll win their last league game against a relegated Chesterfield whilst we get nothing away at Coventry. Please let me have it wrong!

If we score first can we keep our nerve and carry on going for a second or even a 3rd? Our history says no but we must reverse history. Sorry mfc Chris if it came down to having to draw against Barnet to survive I wouldn’t fancy our chances at all! I really hope I’m proved wrong but I think the team on Tuesday will be sent out with a mentality of not losing the game which it’s been pretty much for all of the season. I hate to bring up Coley at Accy but in his interviews and attitude he is always positive and look where that’s taken Accy! Unfortunately our attitude has been not to lose games playing over cautiously and somewhat negatively at times. That has certainly come from the manager.

Credo in unum Jimbo. This man has done his best for our club through thick and thin for years. If he had the players that many other Managers can all upon even in the National and even weaker leagues, we would already be looking back at John Coleman and Stanley. If Jim had the backing that `Coley' has enjoyed over the last little while - instead of the shambles which continues off the field at the Globe Arena - we would exceed his achievement (which I am in no way belittling). Good luck to John. Good luck to Accrington. But even better luck to our lads on Tuesday. If we fall out of the League, it will be the result of what has happened over the last few years at the club, not the next three games. Jamie Devitt was one of ours but we were in no position financially to persuade him to stay. We all saw what we are missing when he scored against us last week. Shaun Miller was one of ours who the Manager tried to persuade to come back to Morecambe a few months ago. But finances again dictated that no such move would happen. And we saw again today - to our potentially enormous cost - what we are missing. This is not the Manager's fault. Jim Bentley has been the one thing that anyone has been able to rely on during this time not to throw in the towel or give up. God bless him: I wish some people on these pages were even half as positive as he always is.

I've said numerous times that our season would be determined v Barnet and it's looking more and more that way.

Jim and Co determine the tactics and style of play. Cole has proved that it's always down to money but on who you attract to the club. Two of our close season signings have proved to be a load of crap and what's criminal they got a 2 year contract. Bloody criminal and Jim has to accept responsibility for that piece of bad recruiting.

I'm sick and tired of people going on about you get what you can afford. Accy have disproved that because by all accounts their budget isn't that much different than ours.

Why would Miller have wanted to return to a side where the manager put him on the bench time after time? He still has the mentallity of a defender in the fact he hates forwards! They are always the first players to be substituted whether we are winning or losing, and invariably replaced by a defensive midfielder or a defender! Coleys attitude is win every game our attitude is try not to lose a game. We have thrown a fair amount of points away late on in games (again today) because we have retreated into our own half to play for a point! We timewaste in the first half of home games! I hope we do stay in the football league, but sadly next season we will be praying for two sides worse than us yet again. But as per usual JB is untouchable!! He could well become the longest serving manager in english football at the end of the season....i ask WHY

To keep things simple and positive .................... if we beat Cambridge on Tuesday night, we stay up. So let's focus on doing that. Then I do agree that we need to look honestly and objectively at things with a view to having a much more positive approach (trying to win rather than trying not to lose) for next season.

That will clearly mean personnel changes, but let's concentrate on beating Cambridge first (a last minute own goal will be fine!!)

Devitt and Miller only signed for Carlisle so they won't be on mega money. Ok it was beyond our means but they are decent L2 players playing for a top 10 L2 club.

We pulled Campbell out of Notts County and I bet he had other offers. He was a bit of a marquee signing until.Jim noticed he was only 5'2. Oliver had a decent reputation and he will be on a good wage. Thommo maybe reduced his demands to come back up north and prolong his career.

Well, if you call double not "much different".

Possibly because Jim helped him resurrect his career? What was he doing before coming to us? Perhaps coming back would have been a good move for him. Jim said he would have liked to sign him again in January but he went to Crewe (and started on the bench).

It isn't that he's "untouchable" or perfect. But he's trying to compete with one arm tied behind his back and his boot laces tied together! If he'd had even a half decent budget, then fair enough, but I think he's worked miracles even keeping us in the Football League again. I do find some of Jim's tactics frustrating. I think substituting Lang for Oliver is always a waste of time. I think if we're going to have Oliver as a target man, we need someone like Lang very close to him, to pick up the second ball. Invariably, with Oliver on the pitch, it is a big hoof, he wins the header, the defence pick up the second ball and attack us again. I also think Jim needs to stop worrying about the opposition and let them worry about us. Settle on a favoured formation and play the best players in those positions. How often have we started with the same side two matches in succession? Stop worrying about losing and set up to win. And yes, wasting time in the first half, at home, is embarrassing! If we were at Anfield in the FA Cup I'd probably accept it but other than that... But, I still think that Jim has repeatedly done an amazing job. Sometimes treading water is a good idea, because the alternative is drowning. I'd love to see Jim given a season with a budget to work with that puts us on the same footing as the rest of the league.

If we go down, I'd be delighted with National League for the foreseeable future! If we go down, I'd expect another relegation battle and quite possibly losing it. We desperately need the off-field situation to be resolved and some investment.

I really hope we go for and get a win on Tuesday against a side who are playing for pride and contract renewals but nothing else.
